SO....
www.newcleardawn.com is mos defiantly a boards of canada website.
Correct....though this could easily be a pseudonym anyway.dono wrote:"Mark Garrett" (MDG?)

yeah, but i wasn't talking about myself. -i- don't care about this nonsense. but Twoism does, and i do visit this forum. i'm bound to feel the effects of it at some point or another. i can't just turn off all posts having to do with stupid speculation about what BoC are up to/what the next album is/what sites belong to them/etc.dave_from_2001 wrote: seek and ye shall freak, mr. misty. stop a'lookin.

once there was a mule who hated his ears. he thought them large and ugly and disliked how they stuck out akwardly from beneath his fine straw hat. i wish these ears away! wished the mule. alas the ears remained. often on the way to deliver fruit to market the mule would peer regretfully into a mirrored lake or river and frown.
one spring day by one such river he met a small, brown tit-mouse. hello mule! hailed the mouse. what brings you to the river bend? i come to stare at my big ugly ears in the reflection of the river water and bewail in misery said the mule.
your ears i see! oh what beautiful ears! screamed the tit-mouse. they are so flat and wide while I have but fuzzy nubbins for ears and all day the crickets laugh at them. if i had such ears as yours i would use them as rowboats when it rains.
you may have these god damned ears for rowboats! brayed the mule. i so deplore them. the mouse pondered. it appears we are cut from the same leaf and despise our ears in equivalence. perhaps we could arrange a gentleman's trade? alas i cannot, sighed the mule, to my skull they are eternally bound by a network of mysterous membranes. the mule waved his ears in a rueful demonstration. i see, the tit-mouse scratched his chin in cogitation. this does present a tricky problem.
an exceptional problem indeed. however, i can waste no more time, and perhaps a solution will present itself by the time i return home. until then, i must leave to market with my applecart and deliver my fine fruit.
but please wait! let me have one more moment to goggle at your fantastic ears so I may remember them with absolute lucidity, they are so admirible. pleaded the mouse. the mule complied.
please, please wait just a moment more! cried the mouse. aside your applecart and stay! the mule noticed that the tit-mouse now behaved nervously, looking this way and that, prespiring quantities of mouse-dew in complex palpatations. but the mule complied.
now, said the mule, i leave most finally for the market for i have shiny apples to deliver, or else i will be beaten by the fruit vendor. and the mule marched away to tiny shrill squeeks of protest. and.. perhaps something else? laughter or the wind? the mule frowned as the applecart creaked and swayed to market.
hours later, the unhappy mule pulled his applecart into the market square. at last! growled the apple merchant, where have you been waiting you long-eared beast? its almost noon! bring your cart here to unload apples immediately!. the mule greyly backed the cart beside the fruit merchant's barrel-bin.
ho, what the fuck? the cart is empty! howled the fruit merchant. the mule craned his long neck up, over and impossibly backwards to peer into the empty cart upside-down. the fuck? cried the mule in surprise, i swear this cart was full of apples! that's the last stick! hissed the fruit merchant. and now, a beautiful surprise for a worthless mule!
the fruit merchant grabbed the mule's long ears, and sliced them off and away with razor sharp pear-scissors. the mule emitted a tragic unbroken tone for 3 hours until a priest was called in desperation. water shot out of the mule's eyes in wide, lazy arcs that cast jewels as they crossed the sun.
after six days and six nights and the mule turned woefully to the path home without ears, cart nor money. on by and by he plodded, so intent on his lamentations that he did not notice the tit-mouse and fifty crickets laughing and eating apples by the river.
the end
