I think that they will just release their new release on a random date.
as do i. it's just gonna be announced one day, out of the blue. i think all these 'meaningful' release date theories are pretty cliché at this point.Roygbivman wrote:I think that they will just release their new release on a random date.
Yeah this is what I have been thinking all the way..dp wrote:as do i. it's just gonna be announced one day, out of the blue. i think all these 'meaningful' release date theories are pretty cliché at this point.Roygbivman wrote:I think that they will just release their new release on a random date.
That's basically what MDG said in the post he removed shortly after.dp wrote:as do i. it's just gonna be announced one day, out of the blue. i think all these 'meaningful' release date theories are pretty cliché at this point.Roygbivman wrote:I think that they will just release their new release on a random date.
Whatever the date is, I'm betting somebody is going to maths up all over the place to make the date have some sort of strange significance.dp wrote:as do i. it's just gonna be announced one day, out of the blue. i think all these 'meaningful' release date theories are pretty cliché at this point.Roygbivman wrote:I think that they will just release their new release on a random date.
Finally we agree on something.dp wrote:as do i. it's just gonna be announced one day, out of the blue. i think all these 'meaningful' release date theories are pretty cliché at this point.Roygbivman wrote:I think that they will just release their new release on a random date.

My thoughts exactly. I'm pretty fucking sure it's coming out at a random date, but if not, my money's on the 2012 prophecy date (unfortunetely yes).The909Virus wrote:July 15th is one of the most reasonable theories so far but still, for their sake, I hope they don't announce the album on some "special" date as it will just spur on more ridiculous theories in the future.
That would be beyond cliché, that would actually be pure cheese...noby wrote:My thoughts exactly. I know, but it feels like the only one the brothers could go for...I still hope it isn't because yea, that'd be kinda lame..Magrathea wrote:That would be beyond cliché, that would actually be pure cheese...noby wrote:My thoughts exactly. Could you share that quote?Fredd-E wrote:That's basically what MDG said in the post he removed shortly after.dp wrote:as do i. it's just gonna be announced one day, out of the blue. i think all these 'meaningful' release date theories are pretty cliché at this point.Roygbivman wrote:I think that they will just release their new release on a random date.
"All I can say is that it was never traditional for an audience to be privy to the machinations of an artist, filmmaker, musician, or author until the internet (and specifically blog websites) were invented.Elephant Face wrote:Could you share that quote?Fredd-E wrote:That's basically what MDG said in the post he removed shortly after.dp wrote: as do i. it's just gonna be announced one day, out of the blue. i think all these 'meaningful' release date theories are pretty cliché at this point.
*sniff* beautifully said. Could be the end of a great movie.Milky wrote:Ah who gives a fuck anymore. I remember when BoC songs would be a nice little treat I'd stumble across on youtube when listening to Aphex Twin or some other IDM. All this over-analysation and speculation is just nerdy, repetitive and dull now. I blame myself for coming to this site too much, and I look forward to when it just comes out randomly one day.
Having said all that, when said day arrives, I will probably explode, because they are a very good band.
i endorse this post 100%.MrMessiah wrote:Things we don't need to know about the album in advance:

I don't see that that really "spoiling" anything about the album. Yeah, you know, it *would* be kind of cool to wake up one morning and then read holy shit, BoC album out of nowhere, on sale now, but they kind of blew that one two years ago when they announced some time in 2010.
Every interview I've ever read with BoC where the question of them deliberately cultivating their mystery has come up they've mocked the idea, but well... what else can you say keeping us un-updated on that is?
Fredd-E wrote:Citizen Kane clapping gif. So damn true. It makes me nostalgic for the early 90s. Walking into the music store and going "oh dude, [band] has a new album!?" It's not that things happened unannounced, they didn't. It just wasn't as convenient to find out that info.
You don't even need to read between the lines to see what he meant. imho. But then again he removed his post shortly after...
Took the quote out, feels dirty re posting it when he wanted it deleted.
The Hobbit comparison is excellent. There are plenty of bands(Mastodon for example) doing the very same thing for their new releases. It ruins the magic because they're showing you nearly every step involved in the process. What stinks about The Hobbit is those who have read it know what will happen. Those who saw LOTR have a vague idea of what happened. So whenever Jackson reveals something that will be different from how the book went it will take away from any of the surprise once it's finally in the theater.
