If I'm being optimistic, he was trying to throw me off the scent and maybe there was validity with that redditor's claim.... if I'm being a pessimist, the convo was lost in translation and he did reach out to WARP.

Sounds to me like he regrets saying anything at all since he is no more in the know than any of us.

Perhaps... but I don't know why he would be lying/exaggerating to a customer who's patronizing his store.

And yes Rodox Head, I'm sure there have been a handful of people who've reached out to him.

Hot take: MDG's announcement started an even bigger drought than usual. Not sure why this is. It's like Pandora's box was opened and nothing was inside it.

Though I write this in jest, I think there might be a bit of truth in it. How do you all feel about that?

There are no clues to the next release in previous release artwork. No one has that much forethought. It's the kind of thing that would be cool in hindsight and you'd wish you could do but to plan something ten years away with a cryptic clue is insane. Who knows what will happen in that time. They might have had a burst of creativity and want to release 3 albums, Warp could go bust, or worse. Of course, they are no tied to the clue by pain of death but I think it's really silly to waste your time and hopes looking backward. Yes, Boc look backward with their musical vibe, ideas and timbres but personally, you'd expect them to look forward, like any artist, you release something and it's out there, done. Chapter over. Move on and make something fresh and new.
And like us all, they are flying by the seat of their pants and something will come together and form an album in time. They are normal dudes, not super brains.

You really don't need forethought to be honest. They could look back at their artwork today and pick something from it (822 for instance) and use that gimmick for a future release thing. This way they didn't need to think about it in 2013 and still make it an actual thing. But I agree even in this scenario this seems very unlikely to me.

It's been 1 whole minute since BoC retweeted Bleeps tweet about Geogaddi vinyls and it already feels like a drought again.
