At this point, I don’t care what happens. Just as long as it does happen.

Just to put the Frost debacle to bed, Music alligator says:

"Hello! Thanks for the information. The release has been deleted. We will contact the author for clarification on this release"

So that's that

We need another sign. Dunno if Aphex is actually releasing anything else, but all we have left is September/October. If nothing happens, it's 2024 all the way.

Aphex is releasing bblr fully on july 28th, and then on top of that he’s performing on august 19th. If BoC is scheduled for this year, it has to be after.

I wouldn't say so. Aside from Rye Lane in November, August, September, October, and the rest of November are empty (so far).

The only thing we have confirmed right now is that OPN will release this year, and personally I could see that happening in the Fall. Danny Brown and Kelly Moran have completed albums as well but there's been no word on when those will release. I'm suspecting next year for both. Kelly probably being first up 2024.

Back to this year though... Imagine if Warp could pull off a BoC return right after Aphex comes back. Madness. Would that be too tempting not to do? Hey Warp, think of all the revenue from vinyl sales. Mmmm...

I don't see how Aphex playing live has anything to do with a different band's release schedule. I wouldn't think it has any bearing, especially since there's pretty much always several Warp artists on tour at the same time, all the while having overlapping release schedules.

Aphex even played his first live show of the year on the same day that Squid released O Monolith...

I think Danny Brown, OPN and Kelly Moran must be the rest of the albums for the year.

I've got my fingers crossed for BOC, but I've since gotten used to Warp putting out other things first.

We will be coming up on one year of the MDG announcement at least so it can't be TOO long.

I'm not so sure. There's some clips of Danny talking about how it might be a while yet for his.

Kelly Moran, OPN and BOC maybe then?

I hope. How many releases are there per year usually with Warp?

It's weird but I could see an instance where OPN and BOC drop something concurrent to each other like OPN and Autechre did in October 2020 (man that seems so long ago now!) Best case scenario I guess!

I still want that rematch of OPN and BOC from 2013!

This should be pretty accurate.

(Of course, 2023 is still ongoing.)

You hear that, Warp? Give us the cage match!

Ooh very nice :) I think we're probably gonna get 20 or so releases this year since we're almost matching 2022 which seemed pretty lackluster. The fact that Aphex is finally back means that miracles might finally happen again haha

And yes! I'd love to see if people think that the new OPN is 'better' than the new BOC like last time haha. Now that OPN isn't a new rookie it'll be great to see!

I'd also love to see a new Flylo. He hasn't made a non soundtrack since 2019. But first, I'd like a BOC or two.

Aphex releases one year, Boc the next... or visa versa?
Hasn't that almost been a pattern out around these parts.
Speculate

What do you mean, Aphex relleases an EP which is not an entire album, so probably not gonna fly

I don't mind the waiting, I just feel weird that there's zero communication between the community and the band

-No theme of the upcoming album (except speculation from social media posts)
-No idea of future tours
-Zero confirmation of back catalogue release

No love for the fans

I'm always curious to know what lies beneath statements like this.

How long have you listened to BoC? How long have you known their modus operandi?

2013

No offence, but I have no idea what BOC plans are

Just curious

It is a bit odd that they'll like twitter comments etc but won't say "hey everyone new album coming out next year"

Cryptic chic I guess

I'm not sure what you mean, mdg did confirm there was a release coming. Beyond that, BoC don't owe their audience any communication. I feel like you're missing the point - they've always been consistent about their privacy & apprehension about the internet. They've always been allusive and cryptic.

I just find it weird that you think it's required of them to have a planned tour, dripfeed a theme & give you all the info about their catalogue. It's as if you're saying they are supposed to curate all of this for you because you like their music.

And they do show love for their fans, you just have to look for it. Easy example is A is to B as B is to C, where they literally are saying "We love you all."

Your take imo is essentially why they've always kept their fandom at arms length to avoid a potentially toxic and parasocial environment. I'm not saying you're being toxic, but these kinds of expectations are a bit entitled it feels.

At the end of the day, you're lucky they put out any music to begin with!
