BoC purposely hides rhythms and lyrics/quotes via track speed, track pitch and inversion that fans have revealed…

they look sweet, dunno the wattage you have, but i dunno what else you can hear, the hidden vocals or more of the rhythm detail?

Exactly. It's more "breathing" and detailed, you can really hear the good ol' BOC "crispy" sound!

I'm downloading the mp3's from Bleep right now. It's just ten minutes to 9 (AM) on the east coast of the US, I haven't heard the album, and I can't believe that it's actually here. I wasn't expecting to hear it this weekend at all, I figured I'd have to wait for my vinyl copy to arrive. And now I get to have my own private Sunday Service with the record, even if it is the digital copy. Hope the neighbors are up. I haven't even had any breakfast yet though, so I may have to give it a minute before I start so I can give it my full attention.

just go with whichever you prefer the sound off. the AAC container is generally considered to be better than mp3 however. as for 24bit lossless compared to 16 bit FLAC, well have a search on the Internet for yourselves, but the consensus seems to be that the human ear cant tell the difference.

That was what I was thinking, AAC is supposed to be better than mp3. I think the only thing that can affect the sound is the "iTunes mastering".

So then listen to it on CD… or get WAV24 or FLAC versions…? I really have no idea…

Either get the cd or flacs. wavs are pointless overkill, the files are huge, you'd only really want those if you were going to do some kind of studio editing with the files or something like that. flac are also lossless but without the huge file size.

wow the mp3s do actually sound a lot better than the iTunes copy I had. So much more detail. Weird

Even before my cd arrived (which was yesterday), I downloaded a FLAC version ripped from the Japanese cd (released Wed 5th) and loaded the files into my DAW. I am so pleased BOC did NOT opt for a 'super-hot' master; in fact the average rms on TH is lower than TCH. They have sacraficed a small amount of perceived volume in order to preserve the fidelity of the recording. Well done boys, this album will sound good....for good

it was all focused on the numbers,

6 sets of 6 digit numbers were released through different media, beginning with 6 records that were dispersed to different record stores around the planet. i believe other music in NYC was the first to report. the records held the first 6 digit sequence... this essentially began the marketing campaign aka. cosecha transmisiones. the other 5 sets of numbers were released through boc's youtube page, one of the banners right here on twoism, a national television commercial on cartoon network, radio broadcast, and the boards of canada website, which towards the end became a black page with green text asking to enter a password. entering the 6 of the 6 digit sequences without any dashes or spaces in the right order revealed the album artwork for Tomorrow's Harvest and it's release date.

That's what I noticed too. Very pleased with that

fook it. i just bought the FLACs on bleep. going to have my first listen tonight, sunday june 9th. i guess i can decide for myself comparing the FLACS with the "mastered for itunes version"

a bit superfluous maybe, and more money for some random people who didn't do anything but also more funding for Boards of Canada.

EDIT:
such a fool with this stuff. the FLACs open automatically in VLC. anyone know the best method to have them go into itunes?
