Thought this may be worth noting, and curious if it piqued the interest of anyone else here:

At 0:53 on the tape, the chi roh appears and seems to ‘melt’ quickly before changing to the next image. That melting effect stood out to me and doesn’t seem to match the rest of the tape. It makes me wonder if the original video source of the chi roh was processed with glitch/feedback video gear before being added to the tape.

I reached out to video artist Tachyons+ on Instagram (their track as Le Gun was featured on Societas X) to see if they had any direct or indirect insight into these tapes.

They indicated that they are not directly involved but they said it is possible the video processing was done by another artist or simply done in-house by Warp and/or BoC.

Any other video artists/glitch enthusiasts here that are interested in the likely processing of original source material in the tapes?

Did you all see this? A Full BOC NTS show goes live the same day as tapes drop (are those new live recordings too? cant tell)... "WARC" messages from Warp Selections on streaming services... The DJ that did the NTS show is a DJ at a station called WARC... 0_o

Looks like complete made up hallucinations. That information isn't in the video or audio.

There's no SSTV in here, it's just a very small number of bits of information there if anything, I don't think it means anything.

It seems so oddly specific though to a BOC type of theme. Don't you think?

With regards to speculation about what this could be, is it an album, box set or tour announcement, it's almost certainly an album.

The album had already been confirmed and it's been 13 years. I doubt they're in such a rush to put out a box set or tour before releasing the album first because the savvy move is to do such things afterwards.

Sure enough, BoC are big enough an act that even a box set would warrant a campaign like this - at least as far as the label is concerned - but they know fans would get cranky about it. I could see them realistically rolling out a box set maybe a year after an album like the Trans Canada Highway EP so that nobody would expect another album so soon

I have been waiting half my life for this. My first ever BOC release cycle. Whether it's a new album, or the BOCSET, I am over the moon.

For those who didn't know, like me, I started googling around after thinking more about some of the words that have been heard so far like "hexagon flexi disc" and came to realize that was a specific type of flexible vinyl, not seen much anymore at all. I'm sure many of you can jump at me and go "yeah, no duh" but it was an interesting discovery/historical piece of knowledge for me nonetheless

Something I forgot to add to my previous comments, if it were the BOCSET there'd be an obvious hint. A known sample playing, one of the cover images flashing, old home videos playing and not some sinister occult stuff.

Regarding them touring... I wonder if they'll actually do one last tour sometime. They're one of the rare bands who could charge 666 dollars for a ticket and probably only 5% of fans would consider it an evil cash grab and 95% would think "Oh how cute and a bargain, I would've been willing to pay 2000 dollars. Makes it more special too that it's more expensive than usual tickets! More exclusive!"

I'm probably exaggerating, of course, but you get the point
