Same here. I've been of the forum since TCH era, and it's amazing to see everyone flock back to the thread with these recent updates. I love that the tapes are invoking a lot of established ideas and themes that BoC are known for. It feels like coming home to me lol.

I only have my gut response to inform me but I believe this points to an imminent new album release.

Just posting this here too as it is quite interesting.

Turns out that Spotify might have leaked potentially that there is a new boards of canada album through their developer API. I have known of this trick for quite a while and had used it and nothing had come up before. But now a hidden 2026 album is showing through the API. Spoiler alert but the hackers might have just spoiled the surprise!



With 100% of my confidence I can confirm a new album is on the way and it is already in the Spotify database meaning its scheduled to be on "pre-save" very soon. Full tracklist I suspect will be out within a couple of weeks.

Also, I am pretty sure that means there should already be ISRC codes out for each of the tracks. If you want to go digging, feel free. But I would just wait for the surprise.

It seems that there are a hunderds of tapes at this point. So I am very unsure if it is a case of one of these tapes being unique or they are simply trying to get the message out that something is coming. Maybe the tapes are not that important and are just a sign of more to come? A teaser? I don't think there is hidden codes or anything like before with TH... but thats just my 2 cents. Unless a different tape pops up and blows this theory out the water. So... no ARG but teasers? maybe there is no website this time...

Someone should start a new thread specifically about this Spotify leak stuff. Otherwise, this situation is going to keep happening. And it's a worthy of it's own thread, in its own right.

I tried using the bars on the Warp Selections album art as timestamps on the VHS video, as well as on the playlist itself... didn't find anything convincing.
The appearance of the "sun" in the VHS *roughly* corresponds to the location of the two nearly-parallel arrows. But the different shapes of the arrows, and the fact that nothing else seems to line up, point to this approach being a dead-end.
But feel free to prove me wrong!

The tapes being some sort of puzzle is a really interesting theory and deserves a thread in its own right not just about the transcriptions. I will not be recieving one as I never gave them my address in the first place haha. The price I pay for buying things in person. If you do recieve one, let us know in this thread!

I like that I get to just sit back and enjoy it this time. I ran the blog that the entire fandom and every news outlet in the world cited while the Tomorrow's Harvest ARG was going on because I was chronicling and updating as things were found and debunked. It was amazing, but sitting back and hitting refresh every 5 minutes and just enjoying the art is equally amazing.

That ending. The theory of the VHS tapes being a golden ticket to a Geogaddi style like listening party. Fuck! Nice theory. But what stops one person for letting everyone else know where its taking place? Everyone keep their lips shut! Maybe your tape is the ticket already?

Would this be reasonable to do? I haven't screwed open many VHS in my time and shoved things inside of them. Do they come back together easily? Would you be able to tell if the tape was opened again outside the factory? Would there be marks? I think the information is 100% digitally encoded onto the tape if anything, and those tapes need to be adjusted or viewed in some sort of angle.
