This thread is finally beginning to run out of steam. Which is no bad thing.

I don't subscribe to the news letter. What was the good news?

Plaid - Scintilli (was scheduled for late 2008 originally)

faith, faith friend...

Black Square in Discography, updates to the Myspace status, various faint buzz with new audio versions released over youtube that are rumoured from the console deck itself, mdg messages, PIC messages... and I am sure I am missing the more subtle clues.

It's a lot of concurrent stuff just to be happenstance.

You are correct, BUT a (so far 5-6) month wait from black box to announcement is....longer than I expected. By BoCtober I will have lost what little faith I have left tho...

Still, I think we should make a complete list of all the hints and see if there's maybe not more to it by piecing it all together, I'm sure I missed some.

The current trend is that there's a lot of difference interesting stuff going on - most of it outside the mainstream and, on the odd occasion, passing into the mainstream.

I would love to see the new album drop in the fall right after the first snap frost. I would go rolling in my vette with BoC on repeat via ipod cruising through the new england area checkin out the leaves with my top down and tunes up. To top that would be to throw an amazing hot girl next to me who also can appreciate the complexities and simplicities of thier music with me, and maybe get drunk and fuck later.

Thoughts?

I would imagine it wouldn't be released until the season that suits the mood of the music, if you get my drift. Maybe it has an late Autumn feel? Or early winter. summat like that.

For example Autechre dropped Confield in summer! Which makes no sense at all. I can't play Confield in summer lol.

Okay, lets go through our hints and "news".

First the black box. If it had happened just a couple weeks ago, I would say this is good news. But it's been months. If you ask me, the actual brothers had nothing to do with it, as I doubt they really do much with their website. My guess? Hexagon Sun/Music70 person did it for either symmetry or just to give some kind of update. Or, worst case scenario is that it's trolling. Either way every day that it goes on being just a blank box is a day I lose more and more hope that it's some kind of update.

Then the myspace update. I highly doubt the Sandison bros. give any kind of fuck whatsoever about their myspace. I doubt they made that update. Again, Hexagon sun/Music70 person.

mdg messages? I've seen him be wrong about 10X more than he has been right.

Julie And Candy ATP being uploaded? THIS is the update I think BoC themselves are most likely to have been involved in. But I don't think it's a soundboard recording from ATP. They play an identical version of Julie And Candy at the Lighthouse concert. It's another version they had lying around probably from when they were doing music for Geogaddi. But this is hardly indicative of a new album to come, unfortunately.

I still have yet to see any evidence against maddog (mdg) being genuine.

The only evidence I've heard is that Aesthetics said mdg has a hexagon sun domain as his email.

- The officially blessed Solange Knowles sing-along-a-BoC tracks. Were these like auditions or try-outs to see what her voice would sound like over their stuff?
- Dead Dogs Two, nuff said. Nice to think that was a toe in the water into doing something with them.
- It's about the only place they've never gone

Then there's the "out of our hands" delay in releasing it: well, nothing like collaborators to slow things up ;) Either getting their parts done, or getting clearance to release it. All 100% pure speculation on my part though,
Those Solange mixes were unlistenable. I'd hope BoC have better sense.
has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
