Did you ever contact Bleep and let them know? I wrote to them and they sent me a new cover to replace my original that came split at the top. Didn't even need a photo, but I told them I took one if they wanted to see it.kidfortoday70 wrote:Mine did tooWaterbagel wrote:Not that I'm too jaded, but hopefully if we're paying 30 USD for shipping (no matter what you're getting), they come in better condition than a lot of the TH copies.. Word. But when you play your new, shiny BOC records make sure it's a decent player. And read up on properly setting it up!kidamnesiac wrote:There are few artists who deserve to be obsessed over in listening to the music on vinyl. Stereolab...Burial...Godspeed You Black Emperor...and BOC is one of these. The fact that you're hearing the physical manifestation of vibrations from some esoteric machinery that few people in the world have access to and can operate is pretty flipping cool. I'd at least go to a thrift store, buy a turntable for a few bucks and give it a try. Trust me...it sounds better.
And I don't smoke. (but I do wear thick rimmed glasses)
Godspeed You Black Emperor?!?!?! ewwww. I wouldn't waste good vinyl listening time on that. If I wanted to waste time listening to some OTT, mind-numbing drivvel, I'd listen to any post-Carter US presidents' speeches :0kidamnesiac wrote:There are few artists who deserve to be obsessed over in listening to the music on vinyl. I actually did, and they sent me a replacement. The replacement was torn too, so I just said to hell with itChipSuey wrote:Did you ever contact Bleep and let them know? Yep, that was just one of the most ridiculous things I have heard. If it's not your thing then, fair enough. I'd honestly like to hear what artists you hold in high regard (apart from the obvious) so I can say "They don't do it for me" and then you get annoyed at my lack of taste.seanandcandy wrote:that is the dumbest thing i've ever heard anyone saySnufkin wrote:Godspeed You Black Emperor?!?!?! ewwww. No I didn't...For some reason I didn't even think about that, I was planning on selling it and buying another one haha. Hopefully it's not too late.ChipSuey wrote:Did you ever contact Bleep and let them know? I wrote to them and they sent me a new cover to replace my original that came split at the top. You wont be able to pick any discernible difference in quality.Buckle Higher wrote:So Geogaddi isn't 180 gram but it's recut from the DAT master and has sturdier new packaging? I guess that's a fair trade off. If the reissue drives down the price of the original pressing enough I may try to get an original so I can compare the sound quality. Then put the preferred version in the new sleeve with the extra panel of artwork!
Wasn't planning on buying Trans Canada Highway but it comes out to $10 with the EP bundle(as opposed to LP bundle plus Twoism and IABPOITC) so I might as well get both bundles. Really regretting not preordering Tomorrow's Harvest now, the discount would make it easier to justify this purchase.
Also, I'm not seeing anything to indicate a Hi Scores repress?
