Thats really cool iv, you're getting the hang of it. At first I thought it was a bit to chaotic with the quite abrubt sample cutting, but it evens out nicely with the catchy ploppy synths, contrasts nicely. Its still a tad repetitive, the song structure is familiar. Could use a hook somewhere, that one short moment that makes me want to come back to it, but overal solid stuff. Don't be afraid to have some unique bars in your songs. Also, a rest-bridge hold-lighter-in-the-air moment in the center could really flesh this out. Overall GOOD JOB though!

Thank you so much for havin' a listen man. I appreciate the feedback, & take all your points on board. The track is for a compilation I was asked to submit something new to.
Structure wise, most of my shit is geared towards people dancing at my gigs as opposed to private listening, but hopefully I'll find a middle ground somewhere.

I've been quietly working on a new album, and I really think you'll dig the material, which edges more towards "There's Nowhere" off the last ep. a lot of work left though. 8)

Cool man. People dancing is an integral part of music. I found out dancing at gigs is allot about the buildup. Its as if allot of people need to see the dance coming, then break loose, and take control of them, and if they missed it, they wait for another one. If one isn't coming the weak/sober lose dancing-interest and the strong/drunk/high force themselves into dance (usually accompanied by a "woooohoooo"). For music like yours and mine, they should hear it coming, still be taken by delicious experimental suprise and be take over by it.
I can totally get jiggy with your sound, but thats easy, I'll dance to anything. I dance to untilted. Get those shy wallflowers on the dancefloor, thats allot more fullfilling. They usually turn out to be the coolest enthusiastic dancers and you'll feel really special when that lonely person at the table gets off his totally freaky freaky feet cause of that one opening he couldn't resist, even if he didn't want to dance in the first place. If they find a mate while dancing even better. So get those dynamics in, they're important to love! :P

Also, the new album sounds cool. I loved There's Nowhere, could totally do for allot more of that.

First one: I like this, the dark feel, the percussion is always changing and evolving, that's really nice. The end is fun and loud, too.

Second one: This was pretty crazy, I really liked how aggressive it was, like Whitehouse mixed with the soundtrack of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

It's... decent, it's got a thick atmosphere and texture, but I can't pull any original sound from it.
Sounds like every other dub techno track I've heard, I don't know where *you* are in this track. Continue on, because you clearly have the talent to produce, just make sure you find your own sound and make your music stand out as your own, not just retreading already worn ideas.

I watched the Gus Van Sant remake of Psycho last, night, and I had the same feeling after watching that as I did when listening to this; "Why?"
(I still like your stuff though, I remember you making some really good beats a year or two back, so don't feel discouraged, I just didn't dig this one.)

This is something different from you, and I feel you're moving in a good direction. You're taking your usual route of oddly cheesy synths and upping the tempo a bit, and adding an element of danger with the vocal cuts.
The mix of the track is really nice, and the squelchy bass line is really nice.
Next, the negatives (Sorry!) First off, I don't know if the samples worked with the synth melodies well. At times it sounded a little off, that and I couldn't work out a distinguishable melody for most of the time, it just sounded like samples being played in some sort of sequential order. If you are going to incorporate samples, I'd prefer if you were to mix them in with a melody, make it stronger melodically rather than just showcasing that you chopped up some samples.
It also sounds like when there is synth melodies over the top of the samples, you simplified them to the point where they were nearly inconsequential, like there's nothing catchy about them, no emotional impact, and not really adding anything.
Also the track's rather repetitious. Yeah there's that break in the middle, but when it comes back in, what's changed from the first half. I've listened over and over, trying to hear something, and I really can't work out what's different.

I do feel that the track's an ambitious step forward, but I feel more work needs to be done on composing melodies and structuring a real song rather than just repeating a nice idea for 4 minutes. It still feels like a sketch to me, something to be filled out for later.

I would say it needs something, but not a whole lot. This is good. The only things I can think of are;
- A strong lead melody, the atmosphere is real nice and the percussion is great and detailed, but put something in the front to grab the listener.
- Have the track build to something, with the subtle synth arpeggios it felt like it was going to build to a point of ecstasy, which would have made the some what limp start worth while, but the track kind of fizzles out before really hitting that real good spot.
It's far too short, I can imagine this thing being a 5-6 minute epic. Those sweeping chords are great, do something with them, use them progress to a bigger and grander area. There's a lot of places this track can go, and I feel you didn't explore enough.

A lot of potential in this, though.

I agree wholeheartedly. Also the chords are all to much alike. EFEEFG as a progression doesnt click with me at all, and are probably to close together to fully carry a song, especially when they're played over and over. Which is a shame, the volumetric dynamics are really nice, but the chords stay where they are. I recommend checking out "the circle of fifths", and have those chords move as dynamically as the volume!

Thanks man.

I used the akai mpc app and the arturia isem app.

It's cheaper to buy one ipad air for 450 euros than one synth for the same price or one akai mpc for at least 300 euros. And all the big synth constructor have apps on.

This is really great, hard to believe that all of this took place on an ipad. I can't even really think of any critical points, production is really tight on this. What's the artwork from?

Will definitely take on board the constructive critique (thanks btw :)) But your ear is way off on the progression, it's Am-F-C / Am-F-G

I'm sorry, I suck at explaining these things (I'm def not a teacher). I'm not entirely sure, but I think what I meant where the notes that resonate to much to my ear as they stack while staying the same in the progression, that might be equally false though. Just try different, smoother or rougher inversions I guess.

Pretty cool, Techboy! It reminds me of BoC.
I love the swirley melodies and the percussion. I started skipping around at about 3:30.
