Earlier this year they used Radiohead in an ICE video and they reacted by telling them to go fuck themselves. So clearly TWH know what they're doing. Personally, I think it’s pretty wild and kind of awesome that Boards of Canada made it all the way to the White House. Doesn’t mean I support the politics, just that their music reached the highest platform possible.

Many people don't realize or remember that Boards of Canada was very popular on /b/ in the early days 4chan. The events of GamerGate and the last two decades of identity politics in film and media resulted in many of 4chan's users growing up and into positions of power. Whether you agree with the politics or not, you shouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

Is it still really ”trending” though? It gained most of its views back in April when it was posted. I’m thinking they’re consciously promoting Inferno.

I found a story about a Sabrina Carpenter song being used in an ICE edit, she called it disgusting and asked them to never involve her again. They replied with a snarky comment that they’re not going to apologize, doubled down and used her content in another video. So they are known to troll and ragebait
