I think basically Bleep/Warp underestimated the demand and hasn't been able to keep up. I hope I don't have to pay duty when it arrives...

I'm really curious what the bottleneck of all these delays are. Must have been at Bleep HQ or the transport from there to the mailcompany. Can't be much further away from the source, right?
Seems ridiculous that yourself and Fredd-E (until today) have been waiting so long for your preorders. You would think they would make extra sure you both get yours quick, given your roles in the community.

Assuming my re-sent order gets here okay, I will have a spare vinyl if you need it.
How nice of you to say Ian. That would have been difficult because I assume the people at Warp don't know my personal name. Besides that I really think the whole fanbase(those who pre-ordered) should have been rewarded.

I honestly think the people at Warp made a huge mistake.. perhaps they thought that the fans of the first hour already got their treat with the whole specially crafted viral marketing trip and the share of twoism.org in it? Intended or not but this has been a huge treat for me anyhow. I can't speak for the whole fanbase but I'm sure a lot agree with me on that.
This whole RSD month will be etched in my memory forever! The record that popped up and the whole mysterious campaign that followed. On top of that the Lake Dolores listeningparty - by being able to be there "live" at the other side of the globe was very memorable - I still taste the sand - :) (again a big thank you to tonx!)

Despite it being a treat, they also "used" their fanbase for this unique viral marketing campaign where most of the traffic towards media was done by us and ventilated via 2020k & the bocpages throughout the world. This whole hype generated a lot of traffic towards the new album and I'm convinced in some way it also lifted the sales too.

The least they could've done was sending out the pre-orders a day or 2 ahead of the not so hardcore fans who ordered their album later. Packing some goodies with that to me was more of a commitment to the fans of which they probably know are true obsessive collectors(most of them). Albeit it 1 sticker.. the costs of this would have been peanuts for Warp/Bleep.

Now I'm writing this all down again I'm starting to feel frustrated and powerless because I once again realise I have placed an order of 89 euros which would have been cheaper and faster to get locally or even at Amazon..

"Thank you very much for you recent pre-order for Boards Of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest. This product will ship to reach you for the release date of 10th June 2013. " sigh

We Are Reasonable People...
I SO agree with this!

So, Bleep got back to me this morning:
Hi Liam

We are sorry your order has not yet arrived.

We can confirm that this was dispatched on the 5th of June to try and ensure that your order would reach you by the release date. However, we hope you understand that these things are not always an exact science. There can be delays in the post that are beyond our control, particularly since we were shipping to Canada from our UK stock room. We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience this may cause.

We ask that you allow up to 28 days from the date of dispatch before we assume an item has been lost in the post. If your order has not arrived by then please do let us know and we will be able to take further action.

We are sorry for the wait. Hopefully your order will be with you soon.

Bleep support
I totally understand the delay, as I worked in the shipping industry for two and a half years before I went back to school this past September. I guess I should be happy that I at least have the digital version of the record to listen to, but I'm the type of person that loves having something to hold and look at. More importantly, as an audio engineer and analog nut, I'm dying to hear this thing on vinyl. Maybe it'll show up sometime this week. I do recall when I ordered my green BoC shirt back in 2011, it took almost a month to get to me..

Anyway, I'm glad you got your copy Ae. Tis a shame you and Fredd were amongst those who didn't receive it right away, but I guess that just goes to show you that Bleep plays no favourites and the fickle nature of the shipping industry.

On another note..this is more like 28 Days Later at this point - Rage Virus and all

Well guys, looks like I'm no longer destined to moan in this thread - just checked my mail and my vinyl was sticking ominously out of it. I guess I can live with a week late

To everyone who is still waiting, I know and feel yr pain..stay positive. Take deep breaths.

I'll say it again. You can't underestimate demand on pre-orders. You just can't. The figures are there to see.

I got mine today (sleeve damaged, Bleep are going to send a new one - good), and I spoke to the postie who delivered it. It was sent from England to Ireland first class, he said there was no way it was dispatched before the 10th (release date here in Ireland). Ball dropped.

The release date in Ireland was 7th.

I can't believe Bleep are still sending out that generic not always an exact science email.

I agree that it's not possible for them to underestimate preorders.

I'm 100% sure that they are underestimating the intelligence of the people who did preorder though.

I got mine Monday, in good nick. However if they think I'll ever, ever preorder from them again, they've another thing coming.

Hi all, got an early email from reception and arrived at work to find the vinyl and t-shirt here finally! Still a bit pissed off over the whole thing, and my resolve broke down, and i rationalised that because i'd heard reach for the dead, the snippits on the ustream from yermo, and the festival youtube of cold earth that i'd let myself listen to the wavs of the first 6 tracks. i've also heard about the first 10 seconds of transmisiones ferox scrambling for the remote, but nothing beyond that!

So, now the vinyl has arrived i can finally break the fast! Appears to be in perfect condition (still shrink-wrapped, but no damaged corners, will unwrap at home)

Anyways, signed up just to show solidarity for you all, i have felt and shared in your pain!

I'm in New Zealand btw, so i should probably be the last person to receive this!

Bleep responded to my email: "I am very sorry if we gave the expectation that it would be with you for release date, but for us to ship a record from when we received the stock to arrive in New Zealand for release date would cost more than the cost of the record itself."

if they're worried that they 'gave the expectation' , then maybe they shouldn't say things like: "PHYSICAL PRE-ORDERS: We aim to ship pre-orders to arrive with you on release date." in their order confirmation emails. Or on their public facebook psots etc...

I also asked them the following, which they didn't acknowledge...

Simple question: Why pre-order? What benefit is there? Could you actually give me a reason why I would pre-order anything from Bleep?

Especially in this event there was no point in pre-ordering. I recommend everyone not to pre-order something in the event BoC releases a new EP. This event was merely a move of Bleep/Warp to divide the people who would pay anyway from the people who could be potential customers, since the latter are awarded with extra's for their new-found love for the band. No more and no less, so much is obvious.

I think you're on to it here. And I will never be buying anything from Bleep again, never mind preorders. I don't care if they're the only ones selling it. I don't stand up for companies that hold our money hostage for a month and then can't pull their shit together. I don't really care what their excuses are either. In a business sense, it's not really acceptable, and I genuinely hope they lost a lot of customers for it.

That's messed up. Really, I can't believe you still haven't gotten yours. I would demand free shipping or some kind of credit.

Since they stated in an email my shipment was supposedly shipped on Tuesday before release, which would have been June 4th, this would be more than fourteen days after shipment.
So this must mean I'll get a re-order.
Which makes things f*cking suck even more, I'll be out of town for 2 weeks starting tomorrow, so technically I won't get anything 'til July 6th or so.

man this thread is really sad. i got my CDs and only decided to buy a turntable just a couple of days before release date, so while my vinyl isn't yet here, i can't blame them for my late decision to get into vinyl (just for one album!). luckily we do have quite a bit of BOC to fill the void - i have been pacing myself with TH (something has me wanting to listen to it on loop pretty much non-stop), so for the drive to work i just refocus on some oldies but goodies. hope you guys can all hang in there - shouldn't be only a day or two more.

ZosoCon - you just need to dig deep, do your best 'Slab Squathrust,' and Laser-Blast yourself to the moment your treats arrive at your post box!

hang in there all - we feel for you.
