received new copies of the albums today..

TCH sounds alright, none of the problems that plagued the original reissued pressings BUT the problem still seems to remain on 'Dayvan Cowboy' which is frustrating. Lighter vinyl too.

Geogaddi sounds fine, but the copy they've sent out STILL has distortion of 'Corsair'.

no complaints about MHTRTC though.

What's the situation with the reissues? I'm in the US and got a shipping notification yesterday - are they replacing everything that we ordered, or just the stuff we complained about? I saw the prior poster mentioned receiving MHTRTC and it seems like that one didn't have many problems.

Not sure why exactly they sent me another copy of MHTRTC.. can't complain though! Might give a copy away to a friend

ffs lighter vinyl, cant they get anything right at all cheap skates, not their fault, the pressing plant were trying to save here from their mess up, a bit risky doing that now considering fans want exact replacements minus the audio problems of course. Its not like they made a mistake here, they know fine well what they're doing using lighter vinyl than the last press.

feck this, im going to have to fork out for the original TCH once i find a decent one. can't rely on this crap. unbelievable.

New copy of Trans-Canada is just fine in my view. Original clicking nowhere to be heard. OK, slightly lighter vinyl, but I've little problem with this. It is a little naughty as they advertised 140g, but then again if it sounds better...

Besides, how much vinyl back in the 70s/80s was 140/180g? Around about none if my Zeppelin, Sabbath and Police records are anything to go by and they still sound just fine 30 to 40 years later.

Overall, I'm happy enough.

ep's came today, all fine except for twoism which had the wrong labels on opposite sides).. grateful to have decent pressings now

Hope everything is allright, I haven't received an email yet. These are the first 3 LP's I have ever bought so I just want them, patience is wearing thin.

yea, a bit cheeky after all thats happened the pressing plant again is taking risks using lighter vinyl on replacements that were heavier. you'd think they'd have learned.

i'll be complaining about this, i'm no 180gm fanatic, but 140 is a min and considering these are suppose to be replacements this is a cheap cop out. Some cowboys that pressing plant, still messing up.

Correct. The vinyl in a plain inner sleeve only.
Makes sense, both cost-wise and stops unscrupulous types selling on 'bad' vinyl in good artwork I guess?

Incidentally, if anyone wants my duff copy of Trans Canada (side A is fine, regular clicking on side B) then I'm happy to give it away if anyone wants to pay the P+P. No artwork though, obviously. ie. skinflints only need apply.

yea thats how the Corsair side came back to me, the same side like nothing ever happened :/ waste of time.

so someone said there that its still the same? oh dear. i dont think they repressed that one though just vinyl factories mess.

if i could slice these new plates in half and glue them to my duffs i could end up with 250gm vinyls, very rare version.

The corrected copies are just in clear sleeves? What does this mean to the rest of us who stayed away from buying the bad ones, waiting for the new ones? How can we obtain/purchase new copies?

Also, are there different catalog numbers? Checking the weight of the vinyl is not identifying enough for those who want to get the reissues.

No different catalogue numbers. Just buy the record if you want the sleeve as well, these replacements were for people who complained about their discs.

Oh hell. I have missed this somehow. Should I check my TCH for defects..probably ! Glad to hear the IABOITC is fine since I am going to order one of those. I think my blue one does not have that epic sound quality that other OGs have.

I'm sure if you place a new order, they'll still turn up with artwork!!

The ones in plain packaging were just for people with the original crap pressings.

Lost count how many times I've been convinced a record is knackered only to find half a sock hanging off my stylus

Just returned Trans Canada and a copy of In a beautiful place to the record store. both of them had a static swoosh every rotation.

Thought I would've been save on the latter one, but a static crackling started on the B side during the quieter part of IABP, and lasted till almost the end of the record.

They get a new delivery on tuesday...

yeah - with the original represses I was sure it was my stylus until I saw other people had issues with their records too..

other than 'Dayvan Cowboy' the record is fine
