Carrying on doing the prep work for my soon-to-arrive greenhouse. We moved 3 tonnes of soil and ballast yesterday, making a 10' x 8' trench, before filling it with a tonne of ballast.
Today we're laying and levelling concret slabs that the greenhouse base will sit on.
Everything aches and I'm covering in mud, cuts and bruises. Who said gardening is for the elderly - it's freakin hardcore man!!!

Ahhhh... *inhales deeply* That smell of old topics and threads from the 00s in need of a revival.
I'll get us started then.
Just the other day I was given an old Yamaha keyboard/synthesizer made way back (circa.1983) The model is "PS-55", it has some great eighties zapps present within its synth presets, finding it quite easy to navigate so far.
The sound quality for something nearly 40 year old is gorgeous.
I'm right chuffed with it, so tonight I'll be noodling around with an auxiliary cord in hand recording some sweet (but corny) electro-madness!

I'm building Shining Spears. Six of them. I'm not really looking forward to it. The kit is pretty good, but I'm really stuck trying to come up with a paint scheme since I've been waiting over a decade for them to finally make new models.

The midnight synth freak out of last night didn't really happen all that much. It's true that it wasn't a 'madcap-vodka-party-featuring-psychedelic-virtuoso-from-the-early-80s'
Well, I'm going into town to sift through CDs, I'll take my portable player with me.
Might find a bench to sit on while listening to the album of choice (if I find anything.)

I'm finishing up a set of bookshelves/display cases and entertainment for a sister.
I used some beautiful Eastern Red Cedar from a local sawyer.
I'll have to post some pictures once I get the finish applied.

Really jealous, I gotta do some searching for a vintage synth like that

Cutting up Reading Rainbow clips in Abelton and creating a psychedelic wall of sound, whilst drinking a cappuccino and enjoying a dab pen.

That sounds like a fantastic time.
Today I've been watching my kids while reading a wild conspiracy theory book to shake up the stream of serious political philosophy I've been digging into lately (Zizek, Graeber, Fisher, etc) and now I'm at band practice behind my drum set, typing this while the bassist and vocalist discuss their parts.

Just come back from seeing a ska cover band, the local crowd were loving it. A lot of head bobbing and two encores later, the hits of madness, the specials, the beat and UB40 finally stopped.
Little 'ol me though, just stayed on the perimeter and observed everyone going mad on the dancefloor. But boy, that saxophonist can blare Night Boat to Cairo!
I should add I didn't have the best time at the start of this little live music gig as i'm not great in very crowded settings. But it did worm it's way into getting my foot tapping by the end.
As for the upcoming hours, they'll probably be spent listening to Vashti Bunyan. Heartleap maybe.

Wait a minute...you got to see UB40 play live!? I love that band!
I remember thinking the song, "Red Red Wine" was a beautifully happy song because, well, it sounded so happy to me. It was only when someone had me read the lyrics that my world was turned upside down.

Not THE UB40. But ey, imagine that! In my little Yorkshire town!
Still, all the band played were covers of famous Ska and 2-tone tracks.
With "Red Red Wine", I hadn't realised until I searched it up myself that it was actually about alcohol abuse. I wonder if the cider drinking half-pissed crowd around me knew that.

I wish they did that yesterday lol. I'm now sitting at work with a very bad hangover because of Holding!
Tonight I'm gonna drink a few craft beers under my new built patio with roof.
