Does anyone feel like this launch has been a bit incongruous so far?
I think some have mentioned it already, but the tapes and posters give off very different vibes. If Warp was to announce the album soon, which looks quite likely, it'd feel like we have two distinct threads that appear difficult to pair up right now.
Maybe it'll all fall into place when they announce. Or maybe it was always going to be this way after the meticulously planned TH launch. I'm curious to see where this goes, because it really does feel like two separate projects at this point.

I remember Mike recommending the book You Are Not a Gadget by Jaron Lanier in an interview... I think they're disturbed by the way digital culture has unfolded.

The bros have never really used 4’s much in their work have they? As a notable number. And so the only reason I can think of that they are showing us 4 graphics is because this is indeed their first double album and these are the gatefolds.

That's a cool concept and yeah i'm sure there will be in some form.
my thought is the corruption and neglect of the youth will be a sizeable focus.
It seems like topic they'd feel strongly about.

To me the videos were very much vintage BOC, but the posters have much more of a new album feel.

I love them in this way… it could be pareidolia but the second image looks like a face superimposed onto a shoreline landscape from that new square version… probably just the ink blot effect but it looks more on point for them now to me… definitely resembles a gatefold

The second image looks like it has a blurry image of a dark-haired woman in a long skirt being projected onto the face. She is facing away from the camera mid-movement as if twirling. Is anyone else seeing this or am I crazy? It could also just be an effect from the shadow of the nose.

I wonder now on close inspection if the liquid on the posters is blood? If its blood, that is really hard core! Its been a while since we've had some proper edgy 2000's vibes. Feels like promotional art for "Dawn Of The Dead". We've never really had lots of blood in boards of canada stuff before. Makes me think the sonic territory of this album is going to be extremely NIN...

Yeah, I think Lowe will play a part in debuting something as well. He has a pretty good track record of being the DJ acts go to. Him or Mary Anne Hobbs... I mean the guys have a 6 Music debut written all over them too...
I also predict that some window in an abandoned/rented building in some urban area will all of a sudden have some projections playing in it... What will it be playing? Good question.
Also, a weird thing I noticed. Pitchfork, while going downhill for a good decade, hasn't said a single thing about the rollout. It's interesting to me that they haven't had a single story about it. Conspiracy types would say that it's because they will play a roll... I think it's probably not that, but their silence has been surprising.
Anyway, stoked to follow along with you lot on here.
Pitchfork are a bunch of beard stroking, pretentious cnuts who probably think they're too cool for this.
