I’m not confident in a release on Saturday for RSD. The Netherlands post is interesting, but maybe something lost in translation? Like they’re saying they have BOC in stock in general, but not that something new has come in for record store day.

As someone who participates in RSD, I can say this... there is currently NO information regarding an RSD release by BoC. This could change, but doubtful now given that there is only one more delivery day before RSD.

Obviously if some information comes in (and it isnt embargoed) then I can update. But as of NOW there is NO sign of a BoC RSD release forthcoming.

Interesting post from Delft. But yes it's hard to see how all of the RSD stores (worldwide?) would already have stock of an unannounced BoC album/single without it leaking.

So for the TH launch, did all the record stores know beforehand that they had new BOC in stock?

They didn’t really have new BOC in stock back in 2013. Something like 6 stores had a single record. Much easier to keep a lid on that

What I mean is, when the records came into the shops in 2013 did the shop owners know it was just 1 record from Boards of Canada? It seems highly likely that anyone that knew of the band would have shat a lung and immediately broadcasted it on the internet.

Wait, RSD album release before any singles? Maybe the RSD release is just a single? Would make sense. I would still keep your eyes open, its been in the playbook before. I think this time, they might have wanted everyone to get something on RSD. Not just a few people, as you know. I think most of us can agree that even if this was a thing, its probably not going to be our city! So why go out? There is no mystery this time, just luck. So, I keep optimistic that they would in fact do this and I would still keep your eyes open on Saturday.

Also, if they have gone out at mass for RSD.... Expect leakz real fast!

If they wanted to keep their job, they wouldn’t have done that. And as far as I recall from 2013, it did not leak before RSD, so no they didn’t do that. It would have been easier to keep on the down low when they’re hand picking only a few stores to carry the record.

The UPC of the vinyls on the tomorow's harvest campaign were registered as copies of MHTRTC, so they definitly knew it was BOC but without further details.on it's content.

My guess is that something will be announced before Saturday. There’s no ARG, and there’s no point in waiting another month before dropping a single. All the momentum and anticipation has been established. I’m hoping Friday is the day.

So technically could be any BoC material.

I don’t think they’ll feel the need to pull off the same trick twice when it comes to record store day. We’ll see I guess

I agree with you. There is no reason to wait further.

Maybe they'll release something on June 7th for National VHS Day.

Warp have just released a new OPN single.

Today is not the day for new BoC. Maybe tomorrow?

It feels too soon to me in this moment.
