Can't imagine what it's like to suffer this weird disability that would prevent a person from just looking up the TH marketing campaign on bocpages or compare this to any other of warps marketing strategies.
There are dates for the album announcement, the single release (which would still be a month away), the track that premiered at Movement, the listening party, its all there. It may not be a clockwork repeat every step of the way. It just seems like people prefer questions to answers which are not hard to find.

I want to know, were you:
1. Born this way?
2. Learned to speak down to people like that, just for the sheer hell of it.
3. Something happened in your life that turned you into that person.
4. Just like making fun out of disabled people.

As someone thats worked around secret campaigns, etc for parts of my career (giant car launches, medium sized music label things, music vids, etc) I can say that if a label/company has some trust in, lets say, a handful of reliable record stores with decades of partnership/distro history, a label rep could easily email the store/manager something like "we have an idea and want to keep it totally secret from everyone, even your employees" and have a shipment mail out, have the mgmt pull out the secret stuff and put it aside until embargo / release day. It's essentially a more informal NDA, and honestly, it happens a lot.
It's how a lot of stuff gets made and "surprised" out into the world, like the printers of the posters, for instance. If you are a printer with a 20yr relationship with Warp, you are going to tell your people to keep a lid on it and do the service... And those have been printed for weeks, if not a month and no one knew until they were up on walls. Same with the people putting them up around the world. Not everything is cloak and dagger secret, sometimes it's a lot simpler and genuinely, when you work with the right people, they will indeed keep their mouths shut and it can move fast. I've asked some to do it myself, and I've had it done to me. All that being said, having something drop on RSD on a large scale is dreamin' y'all. It could be a select ltd thing, but as others have said, they would be repeating themselves a bit. It would be fun, but most likely it's a radio premiere in the coming days with a few social posts after with links to pre-sales, and/or video/streaming. I look forward to whatever it is though (and do fully hope its a few hex'flex discs with some wild code in a digital decryption language that takes us all 3wk to decode) but I'll be down at RSD to try to snag the AIR live album at least...

I agree with this take as well. Friday at the latest.
Only yesterday the most recent VHS was received by a fan. Sounds a short while to build anticipation. Despite the fact I've put RSD in my calendar, I really think we'll have to wait a bit longer. Why invest in such an elaborate promo only to come with a release less than 10 days later? BoC is king in the waiting game, stirring their fanbase with minor effort, like edging us before the inevitable climax haha

The Rough Trade BoC single was put out on Saturday (Record Store Day) night by Noreen, the manager, who couldn't tell anyone else about it. It was deliberately misfiled under Techno and placed backwards as well. It then had to be removed at some point, as 'somebody' needed to get a photo of the customer buying it (and BoC it up with a blank face), so it was put back into the racks on Tuesday morning, waiting for someone to chance upon it. As they did.
There was a yellow post-it sticker on the record saying sell me. It was sold to the first person who came in after it arrived. The barcode is for a “music has the right to children” CD so we sold it for £7.99. I’d actually had a conversation with the young lad who bought it about Warp (after he had bought an Aphex Twin 12″ and then a Grizzly Bear album the next week) about how Warp had kindly done a poster campaign in Edinburgh before Christmas tagging Avalanche so it seemed appropriat

Everyone remotely interested in a new BoC thing is already aware of this though

Love FSOL. I dream one day that BoC will do something similar like FSOLDigital. Where they release vault stuff, reworked stuff, you name it but all through music70. That'd be cool!

Been out of the loop for a long time and excited for this. When do we suspect the official release date? Hoping by this summer.

Apparently, BOC will be on the Riley and Coe 6Music show again tonight.
Third night on the trot.
I’ve never known the same artist appear like this on their show.

They're on Monday to Thursday, right? So then first play of new material tomorrow maybe?

Could be, although I’m still liking the idea of Mary Anne Hobbs playing something on Sunday evening.
So far this week, they’ve played tracks from the Peel Session (Aquarius, XYZ), so I expect tonight’s track will be the same.
Huw Stephens pointed out the BOC track on his Tuesday show, and he also has a round table review of new music every Thursday. They review one track ‘blind’, then reveal the artist after the panel have reviewed it. Maybe that’s a possibility, or the New Music Fix Daily show?

Did they ever mention what their beef with touring was? God forbid if they actually tour again soon and I can’t afford to go
Knowing them they’d probably be weird and unconventional about it too. Only throw a couple of gigs at some listening space in Tokyo with some rare mega audiophile sound system. Or build their own system somewhere. Inside a pyramid in the Egypts I reckon. I’d book the flight of course, no questions asked
