Guy takes the piss and shouts press play cos people know that you just press play on the sequencer and there’s very little else to do with most electronic music other than pretend buttons are really hot and mess around with faders

If they ever release a studio version it better have someone yelling that in the beginning, can't imagine the song without it anymore.

I think BoC aren’t really interested in pretending that they can perform their music live and so don’t. They’re composers and arrangers as well as visionary artists. Plus I don’t think they’d like the crowds.

I've been offline for a couple hours. Who is 'press play' guy?
A person in the crowd yelled that at the beginning of their ATP show back in 2001.

Third night on the trot.
I’ve never known the same artist appear like this on their show.
If you'll be listening, please tell us what is played - I don't know if I'll be able to.
Happy Cycling
Straight after Riley and Coe on BBC R6, Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai is playing a selection of cinematic music (11pm BST). He is now playing Gyroscope from Geogaddi. He spoke about going to the Geogaddi listening party in a church in Edinburgh. Here's the link, fifth track, after about 30 minutes.

Considering how much effort they put into sound design, I can also see them not wanting to lug a ton of rare gear with them and trying to recreate their sound in a ton of venues.

Just heard the Stuart Braithwaite thing as well, something about giving out plastic hexagons at the listening party too.
Occasionally, 6Music play ROYGBIV or Dayvan Cowboy, but I’ve never heard BOC crop up so often as this week.

Speaking of hexagons, I just wanted to share this with everyone. No reason really, other than it is COOL

(many hexagons present)
:DDD

According to Stuart Brathwaite, the final track of his playlist selection tonight (Blind Willie Johnson) was included on
one of the Voyager missions. The track is ‘Dark was the night, cold was the ground’.
There seem to be a few crumbs being thrown around on 6Music right now.

Anyone else feeling how surreal this all this?
I enjoyed looking at this particular thread during my lunch. loved reading all the different theories, become a great routine of mine. But sopped awhile ago as this place became rather (sadly) desolate.
Great to see how active this has all become!
I really feel strongly about there being some sort of 'film' being attached to LP5 (or whatever is coming). I bet if BoC where going to make a film, it would be shot on 8mm or 16mm. If this is what they have been working on, I can understand the time frame.
The posters have grown on me quite a bit too, wasn't sure what to think when I first saw them. Not sure if it is blood... I want to say it looks like a degraded film print. The red reminds of me light leaks.
Can't wait to see whatever is around the corner next!

Hi Manc
Yes I enjoyed hearing that track. A few years back Ozma Records in the USA made a box set with gold vinyl LPs of the music from the Voyager Gold Disc, as well as a book and other items - it's a beautiful package. The Blind Willie Johnson track is an incredible piece of music. Here is a link to the Ozma page.

What is the album going to sound like?!? That’s one of my favorite things about BoC, you never know what to expect. Tomorrow’s Harvest was almost alien sounding when it came out, possibly w the exception of Nothing is Real which ironically is my favorite track on that album.
I just can’t wait!!!

One detail about the recent tapes that just tickled my brain and I'm not sure has been mentioned is - The end of TH leaves us with Semena Mertvhyk, a VHS track full of inevitable, ominous doom.
They then great us 13 years later with a VHS tape chock full of strange, alluring and downright spooky imagery and sounds.
I don't know if there was any intentional decision or connection between the two, but another element that's interesting is the fact that the reveal of TH led to a VHS Visual accompanied by the track. Maybe they just think VHS rollouts are fun?
Or maybe they're being playful and chiding us by saying "We promised you stuff would get worse, we were right!

" This part is just a joke but I like the idea.

Someone mentioned earlier how the kids in the posters kind of looked like they could be from Children of the Corn....possibly from the harvest from "tomorrow"? The follow up album could definitely flow into some post apocalyptic weirdness, indeed. You could have a lot of play in that kind of album theme for a wide variety of sounds, too.
I wouldn't be mad at that, personally.
