Good description. I’m glad to have no idea what “synthwave” is. Thinking of music in terms of genre is damaging.
I know what "New Wave" is. Synthwave? That was spawned out of 2013 80s revival. Youtube was full of it. Mislabeling vaporwave most of the time.
Synthwave is only made king by Mitch Murder. See example exhibit A)

Reddit be redditing. Giving me good giggles some of the stuff people write online. I hope next track sends them over the edge.
Lol. There is sixty five more minutes of absolute destruction on its way, thank God.

There's definitely some 80's vibes in those guitars. In a good way.

There is a higher octave synth that sounds like the same one used on EYDIAB, I think. It comes in around 2:30-3:30ish.
The guitar melody - I'd be interested in some music theory nerds because it echos Turquoise Hexagon Sun.
There is speech that is in the left channel from 0:04-0:16 or so. I can't make out what it's saying for the life of me.
The EYDIAB synth sound - I absolutely heard that too! I think it really is in there for that bit of the song. Glad I'm not the only one!

I was hearing the progression on the Grace Kelly Aquarius Remix from Societas toward the end.

I’m hearing the An Eagle in Your Mind chord progression. It’s just been what’s been playing in my head this afternoon. No clue if it’s in the same key or even close, but something tells me they are very similar. I’ll look into it more this weekend!

Hell yeah! I think I echo a lot of people's sentiments when I say that I was so pleasantly surprised that the track went in a new direction for the band, but was still unmistakably BOC.
The intro flute immediately made me think of the flute in Alpha and Omega. The outro final minute or so has the timeless BOC sound to me, though. There's definitely a synthwave/industrial lovechild thing going on. I agree with the comparison to Nine Inch Nails, and the kind of wandering bitcrushed synth bass at about 2:30 reminded me of the artist Com Truise. Especially this track around 1:30:
I'm doing what other folks are doing--I listened to it twice and I don't think I will again until the full album drop!

the beginning was comforting, so true to themselves,
then the guitar kicked in and I smiled
I turnt 34 yesterday and this is one hell of a gift.
Someone made the connection between the video artstyle and the 70s TV show Tomorrow People I think that's spot on :
"Born to human parents, an apparently normal child might at some point between childhood and late adolescence experience a process called 'breaking out' and develop special paranormal abilities."
In the artstyle we do have nuclear family + adolescence, we do have a rather paranormal child.
You guys also traced it to John Wiley compositions and artstyles and maaaan it feels like they made research,
just like in the Tape 05 and the whole Le Corbusier / Varège / Xennakis hommage.
the whole thing really feels like
they put so much work and thought into it
Thank you to the person that recommanded Locust's "You'll Be Safe Forever".

Yeah, I like the gapless concept. Kind of surprised they are only making an album like that now. Seems very them.
I mean, much of Geogaddi segues into itself, but yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no hard stops here.
True. And the old vignettes did a great job of keeping the whole experience glued together.
Considering the track lengths on Inferno, I am curious to see how or if the vignettes play a part here.

Bitcrushed drums happened in Reach for the Dead as well. It's these little things that tie back.
I put it on in the car and the Mr Mistake remix was in the next few tracks and like, it's *different* but looking back at it now the way its structured, the production on it is a signpost to where they were going on this, kinda. Really want to hear what else they're cooking.

Yeah I think it's safe to say Tape 05 is not on the album, with these two tracks having been officially released on all platforms but no Tape 05
Again if you listen closely, tape 5 is intermission between introit and the start of Prophecy. So technically it's there
I don’t want to go into analysis mode and overplay right now. From memory I only heard the drone from the introductory video.
