One thing I hope, which is probably 99.99% unlikely to happen, is for them to make an extended version of Solarium.

I am absolutely certain there will be ambient stuff, after all each album has had at least one ambient track (although did MHTRTC?). Ambient would be great, but not for a whole album. I have a feeling they like to keep their albums like a mixed bag. I personaly can only hope there is some darker tunes on the blacksquare disk, they hands down do it better than anyone else. I think they need the variation in order to create the rollercoster that is a boc album.

Cant fucking wait.... cannot wait...

my BoC dream album is:

(a) an album of (funky fresh / dark) dance beats like ATP Track 7, Spiro, Warp10 Track 7
(b) whatever they've got coming next

I'd love an album with some collaborations with Beck and/or Björk or someone. Broken Drum Remix is amazing, a full album of Beck/BoC collaboration could possibly cause an apocalypse.

I hope it's a bunch of different kinds of tracks, like the first two albums. TCH was awesome, but it felt more consistent, and I think that sorta forces them to make a shorter release. I want a mysterious jumble of tracks like Geogaddi.

Also, more tracks of Melissa Olson reading stuff would be awesome.
I think TCH's biggest missing element was samples and backmasking. The discussion of TCH tracks is minimal because there's hardly anthing to discuss other than saying "Wow, that was good" or "I liked the part where...".
I like their tracks that spur debates and discussions about their meaning.

I'd like the new album to be an assortment of tracks that are like their earlier stuff, such as the Hi Scores album. And also completely new stuff that they have never done before.
But whatever they come out with, I will be satisfied with :)
Die hard BOC fan since 1998!

there was a thread a while back about ambient BoC.. I luuurve their ambient stuff. Echus, Farewell Fire, Corsair, Tears from the compound eye... Awesome! Maybe there will be at least one ambient track.. one can hope!
i think the tracks you mentioned above are some of my favourite...along with open the light, over the horizon radar etc. we shall have to see what they bring us i suppose!

not to be off topic but Plaid just announced their new album is out this year as well!
If we get aphex we will have the trifecta! Boards, Aphex, Plaid (not since 2001-2002 have we had releases by all three in a 1 year period!)

anyway back to BoC, 2-3 weeks away from the official announcement I'm thinking..exciting times!

I'm starting to wonder if the placeholder is a mistake or not, haha. Imagine if they didn't even know it was there.

I really don't think it is a mistake :D

I mean I hope not. And if it is, somebody better give us some real news to compensate.

But I don't think it is.
