GENERAL NEW RELEASE SPECULATION TOPIC PART II

I’m hoping it is just a new album, but I can’t shake the feeling it might be some kind of archival series, a multi-volume music library like April Orchestra or those old BBC Radiophonic tapes you used to find in the public libraries, or even some vehicle to just get the archives out there, like Madlib’s Medicine Show or FSOL Digital. Maybe you subscribe for three years and get a new “tape” of archival music every season. That is why they had that subscription narration on the first video, are asking us to sign up for first access, displayed 4 posters of the first 4 tapes in the series, and uploaded an excerpt from “tape 05”. Personally, I really hope it is not that and it is just a standalone album (and maybe a RSD hexagon flexidisc). It would be crazy to disappear for so long between releases, then come back and over saturate the market, like Terence Malik. At least it would clear up the thousands of crappy fakes and imitators a bit, knowing there is an official venue for such releases. But, as much as I would hate it and would prefer a standalone album, I wouldn’t blame them for setting up some service like that to help pay the bills while the kids go off to college or something.

Trying not to overplay tape05 until the album comes (assuming it'll be on it). Sounds like more of a closer than an opener but who knows.

There are voices / sounds at the end which sound like the lead-in to the next track

The whole vibe, even the Tape05 tune reminds me of Baraka for some reason, in particular The Host Of Seraphim by Dead Can Dance. Exactly as you say, I get the feeling they are trying to encapsulate humanity in this record, as if they are making a capsule to be sent off into space to show who we are and what we created, the beauty and the tragedy of it all.

My mind is on the theming as well... The posters are giving antichrist devil-child vibes, what with the blood and the eyes, so that feels not far from their TH video-nasty angle... Also: "White-Eyed Children are powerful telepaths [...] Some attribute the White-Eyed Children to messengers of death."

As for the Tape 05 music itself, it feels more funeral eulogy-like, similar to the general collapse vibes of Tomorrow's Harvest. Are there nods to their back catalogue in the music specifically? The backing chords around 0:30 are giving Hi Scores. The chords that come in around 1:35 I can't put my finger on it right now, it's a bit like Everything You Do Is a Balloon maybe? I'm wondering just how focused on their back catalogue this output will be.
