I just noticed that the Warp site has the continuous mix version listed as a single file exactly 70 minutes long (I think someone else was asking about this)

https://warp.net/releases/590977-infern ... /tracklist

I generally listen to albums all the way through so I think this will be the preferred option for me

Hello everyone, I'm glad to be back after so many years.

I wonder if anyone had heard about a 19th track in the Japanese Edition ? (Like they did with the 24th track from Geogaddi)

For now 19th spot on Apple Music is taken by the inferno annoucement video now but that video ended abruptly and it may be replaced by a longer one.

My logic behind this is some symbolism speculations (sorry in advance if I appear like a mad man) :

A sequel of 7min16 would mean an album of 77min07 and of (6+6+6) +1 tracks, above hell.
It would also justify the seven hexagons patterns (in contrast with geogaddi, all about the six) of the new logo.
It would also fit really well in the album structure, 5 - 9 - 5 instead of 5 - 9 - 4 (compare with the very symmetric nuclear family logo).
Why a 5 - 9 - 5 structure, well, tracks 1 to 5 (we know track 2 is in '74) would be childhood and
track six is the point of entry to hell, right now.

Welcome to a roundup of our most anticipated pre-orders.

Following a bread crumb trail of hexagons and VHS tapes hinting at something new, Boards of Canada have returned with Inferno, their first new album in 13 years. You may have noticed that due to a large volume of traffic to the site yesterday, Bleep was momentarily down. This was due to the large demand for this release, and Warp Records have updated the release info for the deluxe vinyl format:

We have experienced overwhelming demand for this record. We want to supply all orders, and so are keeping the presses going to match demand. The record is currently being pressed at multiple pressing plants around the world. Customers who have already received order confirmations should still get their order on, or close to release date. From this point, we can not guarantee that orders will be delivered by release day, and it is likely there will be some delay, but we will get them to you as soon as possible. The release date listed here is a long date and should be improved upon. Digital formats will be available for download from 29th May. We will not keep pressing this format beyond the release date. The black vinyl format will be repressed and kept in stock moving forward beyond release date.
I just checked and yup, September 18th is the new (current) release date for the red vinyl

Multiple pressing plants around the world?

I hope the quality control is similar.

I saw that too - I would be PISSED if my copy was shite - how long would a replacement take? I lucked out with Tomorrow's Harvest (that preorder was a complete gong show) and didn't have any issues...hopefully I can keep that streak alive, lol

There were a few issues with the 2013 presses and Bleep was really good at asking people for a photo of the grooves, then sending out a replacement of the affected vinyl.

For the sake of my ears, I hope GZ doesn't touch this. I'm not sure if Warp use them and that's usually where all of the QC issues originate from.

That said, I have everything BOC's ever done on vinyl. They're all quiet and perfect. I'm not worried.

Again, per my last post. I got a very quick response from Consequence re: Tape O5.

-- re: that Boards of Canada news post, "Tape 05" wasn't listed at all on the tracklist. Maybe it's on there but they've changed the name. But the press release we were given did not reference it being on the album, and it was not included on the tracklist they sent. My guess is it's a "promotional single" for lack of a better term

So they really were just basing it off of Tape 05 not being a track title on the album.

Thank you. I was wrong anyway : on geogaddi the japanese edition made it actually longer than 66:06.

Still, it is very tempting to see the Inferno Video (33 seconds of audio and strangely, 42 seconds of actual duration)
as the 19th track of the album, as listed on Apple Music.
making the whole last
70:33
(sixtyten:half devil)

Note : On Geogaddi, The Smallest Weird Number was also used to "pad" the duration of album :
70 seconds of actual audio (to hint at 70, the actual smallest weird number)
and 7 sec of extra silence.

I too have all the vinyl, but I don't listen to it as often as I would like (don't have a great area for our record player to make it "easy", haha). I haven't had any issues with any of the vinyl. I got all of it from Bleep as well...I'm not trying to bring any bad vibes here - so here's hoping everyone gets everything they ordered and it's all in perfect condition!

Pardon me if this has already been pointed out, but the album teaser that released yesterday on YouTube is a 42 second video. The music abruptly stops at :35 seconds. The opening track for Inferno is Introit and lasts :35 seconds.

It could be the same song, then the abrupt ending begs for something to follow and this the rest is Inferno.
Notice Apple Music listed this as the 19th song making the whole album last a convenient 70:33 (sixtyten:half evil) (having 19 songs is convenient for other reasons).

Hey, we'll see!
