Ok, thanks for clearing that up. The double alias is confusing.

Does anybody have any idea what this is? He says it is Catalog 3 but yeah. We know how that usually goes.

I dont have any problem with fakes... they always raise a smile, and often introduce me to an artist i otherwise wouldn't have heard of. :)

that's very interesting stuff. From what I've read, that's pretty much what the tracks on Catalog 3 sound like.

But I'm assuming that's fake because I really doubt he's a friend/family of BoC. Those tracks could be self made for all we know.

actually this is EXTREMELY interesting. Whatever it is, I love it already.

after looking into it, this guy has uploaded a fake closes, fake acid memories, and fake play by numbers. The chances of this being another fake are 99%.

Got me excited for a few minutes. The ambiance is pretty good, but I am doubting it is BoC.

(BTW I like how you (zeoevil) started arguing with him in spanish so that he'd understand. I laughed at that.)

Well it was more to make sure he got what I was saying. YouTube comments are notoriously bad for conveying the the intent or context of the written word. I've had people try to respond to things I've said over the years in languages I didn't even know existed.

So yeah, on topic. I don't think it is real either but since I can't find any references to Catalog 3 fakes that provide any clues as to its providence I thought I'd ask the community to weigh in.

The alternating current hum at the very beginning is at 60 hz. This wasn't made in the UK unless the recording is sped up.

Anybody know anything about 'Gem Atrium" by any chance? Just seen a few people commenting on BoC's Facebook about their music, saying it was similar to Boards of Canada also. Just curious as the name was mentioned a few times on their page but I can't find a thing online.

The fakes posted here by gem.atrium that provoked this thread, I think. At least I can't see any evidence they've done more than what's been posted here.

Yeah, they were originally in a zip file called something like BOC2013_W_LLC.zip and "gem atrium" just dropped them into the general thread. I think he deleted the mediafire link when no-one here fell for it being real leaked BoC.

Cheers man, I was just curios after seeing the name popping up on BoC's Facebook a few times. Downloaded it there, it's nice stuff. No need to be trying to pass it off as BoC, dunno why people do that.

If a BoC fake can be this good, I'd really like to hear what BoC can actually do. They better release some old stuff along with a new album.

I must admit, I had avoided the recent one you guys are now calling Gem Artium.

I prefer to just listen to the artists on here, rather than dl and listen to something immediately just because somebody is deceitful enough to mislabel their own stuff in order to get it heard.

Anyway, I gave in, seeing as how it's still being spoken about, in the hope that it might actually be something special, and downloaded it yesterday and had a listen.

It's nothing special. In fact I didn't think it was very good at all.

I didnt intentionally set out to make a boc sounding track , but it kinda veered off in its own direction once i made the wavering strings. I may be mistaken , but it sounds along the same lines to me

Hello fellow BOC-ers... I'm a long time lurker, but this thread made me sign up!

Anyway, I was surprised at the absence of this Young Montana track. The second I heard it I felt a huge BOC/Christ vibe. Unfortunately, from what else I've heard, this is a bit of a one-off track for this producer.
