This thread reeks of hypocrisy

This means that maybe not every piece of work is for everyone. I really loved TH because it brought me back to what I liked listening to as a teenager, with a more mature sound. They took me away from darker music, now it's nice to revisit it 15 years later. It really was a full circle type experience for me - I never thought the group that opened my ears to different sounds and even different ways of thinking would drop me off right where they picked me up.

Somehow in all that, they've created their best piece of music in YEARS (that sits right up there with EYDIAB, An Eagle in Your Mind and 5-9-78) with Nothing is Real (in my opinion of course)

As a content adult, I can tell when another content adult is trying to be something they are not. He's not feeling it, and I'm not feeling it either. Trent Reznor is in NIN emulation mode in 2013.

uh, holy shit? you pretty much nailed it for this (mal)content adult! i hated everything i was hearing in the late 80s (with the exception of my few Kraftwerk and Art of Noise cassettes - i was surrounded by Florida swamps and dumb-fuck rednecks). i discovered Industrial Music and would drive for hours just to snap up used cassettes at tiny shitty incense filled indie music shops - MBM, 242, Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy and later NIN. Industrial was such a huge discovery for me. it brought me much happiness and while i still love it - it too is now diluted and not much better than the crap i was trying to get away from on the radio back then. i also began to wonder how silly i would look at a red light with Laibach blasting from my car with my baby strapped into his carrier. i discovered BOC and it made perfect sense. its been a welcome transition and i think i am very lucky to be the same age as the brothers - kind of in the same life phase. so now ... at the red light i have Aquarius bumping and not only is it acceptable, but i see (true story) the folks in the cars next to me bobbing their heads to that sweet cowbell. i couldn't be happier!

Also, the implication that NIN was ever industrial music as opposed to various forms of post-industrial (with possibly the exception of the Fixed EP) and even just barely or that this album is angsty industrial music of any kind is ridiculous.

The fact that you cannot even see the hypocrisy in your own posts is beyond comprehension to me. I did not remix any of the tracks besides some stereo widening, segues and EQ'ing, I made a version of Tomorrow's Harvest with what I liked from that album and from the promotional material for that album and I could have kept it to myself. I decide to share it and I have apparently bothered you having done so. I apologize for not loving every bit of the album the band that has influenced me more than anyone musically has released because I feel it is poor in terms of quality. Have you by any chance contacted the person who created The Phantom Edit, or Attack of the Phantom, or any of those people who have re-re-edited the original Star Wars films to tell them they are being too authoritative for having an opinion and some free time?

The above italicized paragraph is what I would have said with sincerity had I done exactly what Opothecary did with RJ's post - taken a comment out of context entirely. I will however say, with sincerity, that for an adult, Opo has a lot of growing up to do.

He responded with comments like "if I didn't know any better I'd say they were all recorded at the same time" and then later responded with a quote of my (admitted) wall of text (I referred to it as a novella myself) with nothing but "lol". He seems like a textbook troll to me - make hyperbolic and/or false accusations (I'm not accepting the "it sounded like all other NIN sounds TO HIM" statement based on the way he phrased what he said and continued defending it when he could have, if he held the opinion you seem to believe he does, clarified it by saying "well it all sounds the same to me, but that's just my opinion" at which point we could have agreed to disagree, but I'd probably still think he had some sort of hearing disorder - no offense intended and my video I think is a decent explanation for my reasoning behind such a thought) intended to incite responses of anger.

There's no hard feelings I have against you, that's why I actually removed that part from my post before you responded, I guess you just hadn't refreshed in time.

I identified with what he posted about music and I chose to express that in as simple a manner as I could. I grew up on Ministry, Skinny Puppy, and, yes, Nine Inch Nails. I haven't liked very much of any of these artist's newest albums for quite some time. Although, admittedly, I haven't heard enough of them to decide I don't like them enough to complain about it, but I digress. What he posted about music was very accurate to me. Well, I'd have to agree with you regarding Ministry and Skinny Puppy - Al is shit today and Skinny Puppy hasn't ever been the same since Dwayne died. However, I'd suggest perhaps giving NIN's "Year Zero", "Ghosts I-IV" and TR/Atticus' "The Social Network" and "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" a listen/re-listen if you have. I respect this post (and for the record, I prefer to avoid massive walls of text as well, it's just increasingly difficult for me to convey my thoughts properly without them sometimes).
