A little mainstream possibly, but I've always had a soft spot for
Jolene by Ray Lamontagne. His voice helps ramp up the emotional impact of course, but it just feels so earnest?!?

I don't know about most beautiful, but one song I've always fallen back onto when I'm feeling any sort of melancholy is The Books' "A Little Longing Goes Away"

yes. i love this, but maybe because of donnie darko, either way i like this song, it has a nostalgic kind of vibe to it

The Girl from Ipanema is a lovely choice.
Little_A_Northern_Soul_1 was recently obsessed with the film Rio (cracking kids film btw) & there's a version of that song on there, so it has been in my head a lot recently. Along with some great samba tunes
