Fear?
When you person committing the act is that high up, and (presumably) you're a 'nobody', probably with shattered self-confidence too, perhaps from a difficult background, well, you can see why it might take a while.

So it seems there is something tangible to stick on the Royal family with these Prince Andrew revelations. Not only that but have people seen the developments about Jill Dando? It is literally like the Savile case has caused a complete wall to fall down, or at least partially give a glimpse to the scale of the nastiness of it all.

The traditional establishment is weakening, I think. What we're learning about what happened in the 70s and 80s shows how it used to get away with protecting itself. Less so now. Wealth still protects you to a degree but the greedy protect themselves... the establishment was everybody covering for everybody else in lots of little ways to maintain the integrity of the whole thing.

The sleaze just keeps on coming, doesn't it?
At least all of these revelations ARE keeping coming - hopefully that means any investigations are gaining enough momentum and publicity. We can't just brush this under the carpet any more....

It's maybe Stockholm Syndrome, but I think Tumble is one of the good guys.
Edmonds though....
And as for others.... I think a certain aged singer should be looking at spending more than a Summer Holiday behind bars. And a Tory politician has gone very quiet since abruptly quitting his cabinet post last year...

Quite a lot of dirty laundry has been aired over the last few years. Always reminds me of this thread. Westminster is a rotten place.

No remorse encapsulated in just that one phrase, "naff" is the mildest word I can call the conservatives right now.

It's a cesspit. Westminster, the media, a merry-go-round of corruption, greed and abuse. No wonder they were all so terrified that someone might get into No 10 that might lift the lid on it all, or stop the merry-go-round. No chance of that now.
