still feel it's quite patchy in parts, hoping the next will be as potent as geogaddi

I honestly can't comment on its standing within Warp's catalogue as I'm nowhere near clued up enough. However, I can discuss a bit of my retrospective feelings on good ol' TH. I think its concept, themes, production and realisation are absolutely spot on and still widely misinterpreted and shrugged off. In terms of what it has to say and its philosophical statements, it's actually a far denser work than it's given credit for. Even its titles are poetically and carefully composed. That said, I feel the actual music itself suffered. That's not to say I don't like it, I love almost all of TH from that standpoint (although I can't help but feel Come to Dust is weak musically). However, in an effort to make present their themes and ideas as saliently as possible I feel like it never quite reaches the zenith of melodious and rhythmic bliss of their previous work. I'm happy to have an album that's more about its concept than intricacy of composition (as opposed to production, which is about as intricate as it comes). I'm especially happy to have an album of such depth of thought in the wake of the more musically oriented TCH. My greatest wish for their 5th official LP is to marry those two axioms with the same success as they did on Geogaddi, but with an even more developed skill.

So, for the TL;DRs out there, a fantastic and divine piece of work that perhaps disappeared up its own conceptual arse a bit too much at times. However, what a gorgeously enticing conceptual arse it is.

That's interesting and well assessed. I first got into BoC on release of MHTRTC, I think Geogaddi is their best release and Come to Dust the best and most BoC song on TH, horses for course and all that ..

Yes I do, for me I prefer their more melodic psychedelic stuff, which I feel was lost on TH. I do like TH but I tend to find myself skipping through tracks to get to the one's I prefer, some of which I just find as fillers with not much appeal, not enough interest or lacking in melody for me. If I'm honest it was a bit of a disappointment overall, a digression I would say.

I think the narrative of the album overtook the creativity and that's why it feels a tad cold and lacking personality.

I don't understand why they take so long in releasing new material other than perhaps they just can't be that bothered. For gods sake though just release something, nearly 4 years, why take so long?

I'm hoping for a return to Geogaddi with a sprinkling of TCH Psychedelicness and maybe a move towards a more prog epic self indulgent melodic lushness, that's just me.

Do you think that the next album won't be announced until TH is explored in every possible way?

I can't help but feel that despite going rather deep into the depths of it that there are still some unexplored caverns there, waiting to be found.

I refer to the type of excitement that 'red moss' and 'nlogax' had

not as contained as tomorrow's harvest, reading their interviews helped me appreciate it more

something that is neither restrained or cautious

the remix they did for odd nosdam was wonderful

It's nice to think about, but I doubt they're telling Warp "just one more month...we need someone out there to figure out this thing they're overlooking about Tomorrow's Harvest first"

TH is what it is, take it or leave it. The Campfire Headphase, even though it's a very mellow and occasionally uplifting album, it always felt like a very specific end of an era type album and I was really primed for TH to be nothing like it when it finally came out. I remember people being incredulous about the title of TCH when it was first announced, like it was some sort of sci-fi themed thing, but I took it to be meant as a final summation of their musical or even lifestyle aesthetic up to that point, up until then, I think they would make you think of fuzzy 70s nostalgia, mathematics, tripping balls out in the woods around a campfire, stuff like that, whether they agreed with that reputation privately or not, that was the box they were in so I'm sure they were eager to make the least melodious and warm thing humanly possible when they came back.

It wouldn't surprise me too much if they had a mostly finished companion album more along the lines of fan expectations that they've been tinkering with ever since then - personally I'll always take TH over TCH but I've beat that horse to death on Twoism already.

Knowing those guys, it's probably finished and they'd rather just post a fanmade video for each of their albums to social media every couple months in a specific pattern while they get the last 1% of the album just right. I really thought it was going to happen at the end of the year last year, but I guess they still need to give us something from Twoism, Geogaddi and IABPOITC after all.

Maybe Marcus will get a birthday album for once, usually it's Mike (I only know this stuff because I have almost the same birthday as Mike, so that has made for a great gift for their past couple of releases)

I won't tell you why I think so, but whatever video they post after that one is where it's going to start getting interesting - so we have a little time yet.

It would be great if that were to happen, but I'm beginning to doubt there will be anything released soon. It's only been four years since the last album, after all

I think you will be seeing some activity from them very, very soon.

I'm revising my predictions toward an early August announcement and early/mid September release. We still have a few gyrations to get through.

I hope so, we'll just have to wait and see. This sort of thing has happened so many times that I've become really doubtful. They've probably got tons more to put out there, but I can't wait another 8 years!!
