Hoping to hear your version of it later, I really love this track.

Damn this is great. Awesome cover, this really makes the track justice. Best R35TT track, hands down

Awesome cover :] I like the touch of that higher pitched feedback-like sound (reminds me of distorted guitar feedback). Thanks for adding to this effort, and for the interest. I haven't started working on B16 at all yet. It's one of many that I wanted to, but really, there's so many songs from all 3 collections that sound exciting to cover. I might have a go at B16 sometime, but this one is really solid. Maybe I would just to try out different instrument sources, but idk...what all do you use? Do you use FL Studio by chance?

Reason I ask is another idea that was floated earlier was collaborating on songs. The appeal to that idea for me, is being able to make it a group project, but also have a sort of uniform, cohesive sound. Maybe that's a possibility? Easier if we happen to use the same DAW, but still doable otherwise. I use FL studio to record and mix..etc., but all the instrument sources you've heard from my stuff have been external from FL: EZDrummer for my drums (midi sampled from real drums), a Yamaha CS analog synth (which I've read BOC themselves have used a Yamaha CS on at least some stuff), a Jackson guitar, and an Ibanez bass...which BTW, I could swap out different instruments for individual song parts, and submit different versions for the community to weigh the options. Like, I could submit a version of say B16 that just *attempts* to sound like an improvement on the original, so using synths for everything, and also submit a version that uses bass guitar for bass, and guitar or something else for leads (I tend to prefer bass guitar even if I use the synth on other parts, but it's all sorta malleable). I also play flute, and I've thought about throwing that in somewhere. And of course a bunch of midis from FL Studio, but I haven't used them for this project yet, and I've got Iris 2 from iZotope, which seems like higher quality with packaged FL stuff; it's the fuck out of CPU, though.

There's a lot of possibilities. A few more that I had started on: A 08, I Will Get It Tattooed, and started interpreting A 13, and Music for Pylons...probably others. Music for Pylons seems really fun to cover, and the only reason I didn't make a draft of that yet, is because I haven't found a midi generator to emulate that electricity sound; or synthesize it with the analog. Any ideas?

Thank you for the nice comments!

On my old computer which lasted me the past 8 years I had a cracked version of FL studio and a lot of good Mixing/mastering VSTs and a cool DAW setup that I was used to. sadly I bought a new computer this year and the old one I just made it a dedicated TOR machine to host a BBS and lost all my FL studio stuff.

So I'm stuck with the demo version of FL now and I'm very limited but this has led me to actually use my Gear instead of the DAW for tracks. so this cover was made with My behringer neutron for the bass and the melody and the drum machine I used was an RD-8 from behringer which is a clone of the 808. I passed that through my cheap mackie mixer and I ran the phone output through my Korg Monotron DELAY and back into one of the track of the mixer. this is where that feedback noise came from. in the end I regretted using that but seeing that you like it then I don,t regret it anymore

I passed the whole thing through my cassette deck for some added analog warmth.

I still use fl studio to rearrange things but I have to do it in one sitting because I cannot save projects and load them back up.

Made one for Circle, using a Korg minilogue, a guitar pedal, and an amp. It was VERY tricky to make the flute sound, especially considering that minilogues can’t make a natural sine wave, could need some reverb.
