I used to have one of those things when I was a kid. It's an electronic/mechanical playset with "bulbs" that have multiple connections. You build little machines with them. I can't believe I forgot about playing with those.

I think I accidentally dropped mine in the bathtub when I was 7 or 8.

I really like this artwork, maybe my favourite up till now. After the last 3 main albums I would personally find another technical abstract image as album cover a bit boring. This is a really fresh colour with the letters portraying an original way to describe their music. I hope this cover is also hinting at the fact that Quaristice may become a really original album for even Autechre's standards.

I reckon this looks way nicer as a CD cover than as the packaging of a double LP set though.

awesome! im glad to see the designers republic back!! they havent done something for ae since... lp5? wow... because i know they did their own art for confield, and alex rutterford took over after that. but maybe DR did gantz graf. either way! its good to see them back!

slow, rhythmic pieces not unlike their early stuff, but strange ethereal textures...and dark, claustrophobic atmospheres...WNSN is absolutely the strangest thing I've heard in a long time, it sounds like some kind of tribal biomechanical people dancing!

Just from a couple tracks I get the feeling much of it will sound a lot less *electronic* than most electronic music out there...probably more just like completely experimental music...
