agreed salomon, dont know how we missed them as they are one of my favorite game series, even more so than resident evil. silent hill 4 was good but not nearly as good as 2 and 3.

have any of you guys played any of the of the earlier games from treasure? gunstar heroes and sin and punishment are up now on the virtual console on the wii. they are awesome... not quite as brutally hard as radiant silvergun or ikaruga, but still a challenge.

and yes silent hill 2 is the best in the series... im not so sure about silent hill 5 though... the games development was out sourced to some american company... they will probably try to turn it into Gears of Silent Hill.

also, i agree with the post about final fantasy nine. that game is one of the best and most underrated games in the whole series. it is so much better than 8 or 10!! it might even be better than seven as well *gasp* i said it.... at least nine has a story that makes sense.

odin sphere is beautiful too...was that mentioned already?

ALSO
a while back i mentioned aquaria... i had tried the demo, and i think cupz did too i think. well, i decided to download the game from a torrent. (i just cant bring myself to pay 30 dollars for a game thats just a download anyways... yet at least, i am poor) but ive gotten pretty far, ive gotten a few cool abilitys and different forms, and by now its gotten really cool. its pure metroid style exploration with BEAUTIFUL hand drawn graphics. i would recommend that everyone try out the demo on their site, and you will knowif its your type of game or not within the first two minutes. the only problem is that it starts out really slow with no real abilities... but dont worry, this is remedied within about 40 minutes (its a long game.)
it also has a cool list of treasures to collect that you can put in your little house-cave. its got four 'pets' that you can find, that will just follow you around and help you attack. its got a cooking/alchemy system thats really simple and helpful. and its got amazing music! seriously, its like my new favorite game (and yes i played bioshock, assassins creed and mass effect. this is probably better.) here is there official website: www.bit-blot.com

PS.
check out cave story. http://gameflaws.com/cavestory/

pps.
cupz, remember, if it was on pc at one point. there is a torrent... (silent hill 2 and 3) www.thepiratebay.org

Does anyone else think that Silent Hill's music is hauntingly BoC-ish at times?
I'm new, by the way. Hello. :?

I am a beta-tester for this baby.

http://www.audio-surf.com/

Its soooooooooo awesome.

You take your favourite MP3...and the race-track will be generated according to the music.
I'm talking a tunnel with every snare, a bump with every kick and traffic with every note of the melody.
My favourite track to play with is M83 with Teen Angst...the climaxes are represented in such acool way. Adrenaline through my body.

The beta-testing is over for now (lasts only a day) but you can enter your email adress and become one two.

YOU MUST PLAY THIS!!!

If any of you are looking for some of the soundtracks for the games, you might want to check this site, there's tons of them on there.

I see beauty in lots of games.. unfortunately I don't have any newer systems to experience the real gems...yet.
but for now I'll have to go with:
Final Fantasy 12. if the gameplay and story dont do it for you.. the pretty landscapes should?
and for that matter, I think most FF games are beautiful. the music plays a great part..
Star Ocean (super nintendo and ps1)
Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny
Seiken Densetsu 3, Secret of Mana
Chrono Cross, Radical Dreamers,

and.. thats all i can think of at the moment

I bought Endless Ocean today and its really cool..peaceful and beautiful. It's slow moving but from the looks of it there is a LOT to do in this game, it's really laid-back and mellow. My kinda game...I've gotta get an SD card reader so I can listen to my MP3's while I'm diving around..namely boc 8)

Cupz wrote:Recently I found out that I like games more when they're beautifull. Not in the sense of "good graphics" but in a sense of...beautifull landscapes and enourmous atmosphere. I have some favourites

Myst (all of 'em)
Uru (loooove)
Noctis (must play!!)
Beyond good and evil
Freelancer
SSX 3
And allot more...but I can't think of 'em...

Any suggestions? :D
I'm gonna go look up Noctis later.

I'd also submit that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and Kane and Lynch: Dead Men are both darkly beautiful games. (Trust me, Kane and Lynch is a much better game than the critics are saying.)

has "Within a Deep Forest" been mentioned yet? The game is very fun, at some times soul crushing-ly hard, but still fun. It has an awesome soundtrack too. Its free from here: http://www.ni2.se/nifflas/
