Tender Buttons is brilliant, but I can't jive with the rest of their work.

Diggin this up just to give a heads up for folks who didn't see. Warp have reissued the Broadcast back catalogue on vinyl, which is pretty exciting, especially as original presses now go for silly money.

Bleep are doing a bundle for 90 quid, pretty good if ya got enough notes.

For me this is a bigger deal than the BOC reissues. Picked up The Noise Made By People and Tender Buttons from my local vinyl pusher and they sound wonderful. Not much 'old' vinyl I'm still wanting now. Might cave in and pick up SOTL 'Refinement...' second-hand someday if it doesn't get repressed soon.

Holey Moley I got the actual vinyl record of The Ha Ha repress and it is very impressive.

I picked up this last month. Sounds great! Fantastic inserts too!

Bought Ha Ha Sound and Tender Buttons when they first came out on vinyl and seeing the prices go up to $150-$200 for first pressings, I was tempted to sell but my vinyls are very special to me. When you take them out, you remember buying them, who you were with, ect. It sounds lame, but they become apart of you.

Anyone ever hear anything else about the new album? James Cargill said he was working on putting something together featuring vocals recroded by Trish before she passed.

But how long do you sift through audio tracks of Keenan singing alone trying to figure out how to edit them before you are overcome with the task. It must be incredibly difficult to present and finish that idea. I still think it will be years.

The original sleeve is like that as well. Great that they reproduced it for the repress. I love it too.

Totally agree on the difficulty of the task of going through those recordings of Trish singing. I hope we hear something someday but I'm not expecting anything so it'll be a wonderful surprise should it happen.

I'm revisiting this band. Great stuff. Might pick up that Focus Group collab record.

If we do get a new record, I'm not expecting much.

I can't speak from experience but writing songs around posthumous vocal takes sounds dodgy at best because there's no retakes.
If Cargill feels the song wants to go in a different way than Keenan's vocal tracks will allow, he's got his back against the wall essentially.

Their later stuff (Mother is the Milky Way, Witch Cults) is more like pastiche collage, which lends itself to that kind of editing work.
