If Boxcutter is the crappy side of Planet Mu, i'd really love to know what you think is the good side.

I'm really really picky about my tastes, and PM seems to be especially good or bad for me.

I really like their more "classic IDM" stuff. Mrs jynx is brilliant, older u-ziq is always nice. I just can't stand some of their harder cut up stuff. Like I fucking hate Venetian Snares with a passion. I do like their dubstep stuff though- Benga and Loefah and the like.

I didn't mean to push your buttons. I know you've played shows with PM artists before, I just don't like most of them. I like things more suitable for at home than on the dancefloor, although I've just finished a VERY dancey album for this Spring...

Understandable, each to there own etc.
I definately wouldn't say Boxcutter is all dancey though! Definately some home listenable stuff in there. Barrys next album will be very interesting indeed.

I like Lil Wayne, I'm sorry. I'm allowed to have bad taste too! lol...

Cool: Christ (Benbecula Recordings)
Uncool: Christmas Songs (especially when a song formerly unconnected to Christmas is re-formed into turkey-muzak purely because it has the word "Hallelujah" in it)

Humbug.

You could be right.
Any recommendations?

Yes ladies and gents, let's keep this to a civilised (or uncivilised) discussion about what is cool and uncool. Let's not pollute the debate with what we think is good or bad.

Example

Cool: A BOC track you like from a BOC CD listened to during incredible sex on a superb beach at sunset on mushrooms
Uncool: The same BOC track played by a karaoke specialist and piped through the sound system at Asda while you buy toilet paper

Actually, cool and uncool may be seen in both ( :) )but I think you can see where I'm going with this. Cool and Uncool, not good and bad. :)

First time I did it was on the beach. When we came together, I saw my future. I saw my past. The hairs on my chinny chin chin stood on end. It was amazing.

Seriously?? I've only ever heard good things about Ratatat live!

...and I love all their major releases, too.
I've seen Ratatat live (Blind Pig, Ann Arbor), and I don't know what you mean by CSS, but they weren't doing any HTML programming. I didn't notice any long solos, they sounded pretty much like they do on album. They were excellent on stage, got the whole crowd moving. I don't think I've ever gone as wild as I did there. Met them all too, very cool guys, if not all of them a bit smashed.

Your pal,

PS: happy hollandaise
We'd probably get along just because we don't like Radiohead.
