The Lone remix is growing on me. At first, the heavily compressed... well, everything, threw me, but it's great now. Though I think I prefer it when the beat is quantised near the end of the track.

The Lone track in the beginning is a FAIL. He pretty much ruins the song with that offbeat BS, nice job making me cringe to Bibio (never thought that would happen). Odd though, it turns into one of the best tracks, about 2:50 into it (When the beat becomes normal and the music sounds good to the ears), -- if the whole track sounded like that it would be my favorite on the album. I don't get why Lone can't just stick with that sounding stuff instead of making it so offbeat that you have to be from another planet to actually find the rhythm. I love all his solo music that i can grasp the beat to, the rest is just ehhhhhhhhhh WHY.

Other then that, The Letherette and Gentlemen Losers Remixes are my fav.. And my fav just bibio track is "Bones & Skulls".

I have to agree with you, the snares keep jarring me, theres too many.

Yep, The Letherette mix is awesome, my fav by far.

It seems bibio has been moving towards a more IDM influenced electro style for a while and I think this marks his farthest departure from his roots. I prefer his earlier stuff because it was very different and instantly recognisable as Bibs.

true, i hope we get more grainy, loopy, acoustic stuff in the future. VTC is his best album in my opinion. If he could somehow blend the sound of his first three albums with his newer stuff, that would be amazing! imagine the beats of fire ant over the acoustic sounds of VTC. could that work? i remember when i first heard bibio i thought "what no percussion?" that style has since grown on me, but i still wonder how beats would sound.

I love Lone usually, but that beat just detracts from the track. If it was properly quantised all the way through it would be an A+ BANGER.

Edit: Please disregard anything in the previous post...

Just received this in the mail today, and listening to the final track at the moment. Absolutely solid. Esp. loved the melodies in the Wax Stag mix and Bibio's own mix here at the very end. The lone mix was class as well. (:

Waaaaay too late! The final was limited to 1000 worldwide and sold out pretty quickly. I think only 150 were for the UK. Available on CD tho.

AA wasn't too great. I dunno if I'll even bother with this one. Fi/VTC Acoustic Bibio wins by a country mile....some artists just don't pull off electronica convincingly.

AA's probably less 'electronic' than VTC, to be fair.

I guess that solely depends on your definition of 'electronic.' VTC is definitely more pastoral, beat-less and employs far less synths. Why do you think AA is less electronic?

Song like 'All The Flowers' or 'Abrasion' - pretty much straight-up indie-folk, while Compost has a load more IDM traits.

Just because 'Haikuesque' has beats doesn't make it electronic, in my opinion.

Fuck that Lone remix of 'all the flowers' is sick!!
I so much love Lone's style. Bibio + Lone = complete awesomeness..
