The hate seems to be judging spiro as a track because it apparently means the next album will be dancey boc. Which is stupid. Really stupid. As a 1.8s loop, it is barely even worthy of opinion, positive or negative. I personally don't have an opinion on this loop, I just have an opinion on what some people seem to think it represents as far as the future of boc is concerned.

i agree that it's ridiculous to try predicting BoC's future sound from this loop, it's also ridiculous to try predicting it from the Why? remix, from Seven Forthy Seven, from a nuclear blast .JPG, and from the number of hairs currently present on Marcus's head. but that won't stop the jonesing BoC-junkies from trying.

No, I'm not mad that BoC have been quiet for the last four years and I had no expectations out of spiro. I'm just fed up that every BoC related discussion comes back to people moaning about the lack of updates from BoC. However, I do agree that everyone should calm down, probably myself more than anyone else.

i don't understand how the loop is 'not what you expected of them' when we have all heard the actual full-length track it's from...?

I don't think this board has to be chill just because those Boards are chill. People can express their opinion, whatever it may be. People aren't going to pretend that they're not impatient or that they like something that they don't when they really can't help it. I think it's sort of creepy when a thread is abandoned due to it's "negativity". It feels like an infringement on freedom of speech. Twoism Big Brother cracking down.

Just looking at the Boards of Canada subforum on WATMM makes this place look like happy land.

it's not that, man, it's just that most of us - especially the members who have been here for longer, and probably moreso the older a member is - are used to this place being populated largely by very chill people who discuss things in a remarkably civil, constructive, friendly manner. but that description doesn't really do it justice. basically twoism is usually seen by us as a huge reprieve from "the rest of the internet". now i know many members have absolutely no problem with "the rest of the internet" but there are those of us who find it grating, annoying, and full of loud idiots, so twoism is a blessing. it's like a zen garden among warzones. of course, as we've seen here and in a few other recent threads, such is definitely not always the case.

i'm saying this not because i myself am always civil, constructive and friendly. sometimes i'm a loud annoying idiot. but i do definitely appreciate that this place is, on the whole, more like the experience of being at a club made up of your friends than your average internet forum.

totally agree with turquoise and mexicola here. although i seem to think i fit more into the - well i post here often, and offer my opinion - most often than not it's ignored, or not worthy of a reply and so be it group!

You are so right. I'm new here and I really appreciate this forum because it's different from "the rest of the internet". I think that credit for that goes to BOC also, because their music, I think, necessarily attracts more chill and perhaps more intelligent people. But the tension here is due to lack of any real news from the brothers for 4 years now. And people seem to see less and less sense in obsessing over the crumbles from the table. But we have to keep the faith
