yeah, those are japanese shop promos. they still sell a lot of albums on tape here, but i've never seen anything worth buying on cassette in the shop here. would be cool to own. but yeah, the price is kind of rediculous!

make an offer dude! you might get lucky! i have been on discogs. and i think this thread can be changed to focus on out-dated formats (i.e. vinyl, cassette, reel-reel, you know).

well, i think CD's are more than outdated for a format if you will. we should be using DVD as an audio only industry standard by now. as for vinyl... IMO its still the best format for music. shame it degrades after each play

As far as I know, it didn't come with any inserts(I got the 12" when it came out in late 2000, and mine doesn't have one, and I've seen a few other copies which didn't have any additional insert either). Though, as always, I stand to be corrected.

Just a thought, but did yours come with an insert, and was it the Warp press release for IABPOITC? Or maybe the IABPOITC postcard?

If you use the correct type of turntable such as a linear tracking turntable (the really nice ones are expensive) you can extend your albums life. Use a diamond tipped needle as well for maximum sound quality. There is nothing like it. I have a high end Sony one my step father gave me a bit ago.

To be honest, I don't know if there is a press release for IABPOITC, I was just thinking of the usual generic inserts you sometimes find in records.

As for the postcard, I know one exists, and I'm sure some people on here have them, unfortunately I don't have one myself.

that price is so wacky i would not be surprised if its an auto pricing oversight from some market platform parser like Monsoon Edge--calculating 2Gs based on other listings online by whatever ratios they've got programmed. maybe someone listed it on some other platform for 5Gs to screw with other vendors' inventory programs.

maybe another program will purchase it at that price having detected a large jump in value based on its purchasing criteria, completing the clusterfuck.

i have all 8 IABPOITC cards. did they not come with every clear vinyl for preorder?

Both of those places are great! When I was a kid, I used to ride my bike there and browse the selection.
Once I was old enough to drive I'd visit at least once a week and spend any extra money I had on music.

I don't have the clear vinyl, just the standard sky blue. You should scan the cards, would love to see them!

How does a linear tracking turntable work exactly? What is it about them that extends the life of youre records? I've been using a direct drive turntable for the past couple of years. it's an audio-technica and i like it, its nice. but i've looked at these audiophile turntables before and dreamt about buying one.
