Had another email from the Greens local campaign manager asking if I'd like to get involved. Giving it serious consideration..

I would yeah. I don't know if the AV system that the LDs were pushing back in the day was the best system there is, but it was better than this. I was delivering leaflets back then for the yes camp and it was pretty demoralising how the nos had basically bulshitted the public through their media mouthpieces. Did what I could, but it was inevitable and now I think we're stuck with it.

I guess the other answer is move somewhere that's more politically in tune with me but...

Yeah, it's always a tough question of whether to go somewhere you can be a part of something better and where you can develop yourself in far more positive ways or whether to try and be the change yourself for the place you already reside. The waters further muddied when you consider that most people would agree with you on many things they currently oppose, providing the political and media landscape wasn't so toxic.

What's Cameron up to the? Refusing to take part in the pre-election TV debates unless the Greens are involves too. Totally agree they should be included, but are we to believe he's developed a sense of fairness? I think not..

He's been heard off-camera saying he could do without doing any televised debates after the performance last time. So he's giving the TV channels an ultematum they can't keep, or trying to. I'd be stoked if they called his bluff though, some actual cogent left wing voices in the debate.

Cogent left wing voices are few and far between though, not sure there is anyone in a pre-eminent position who can handle the heat on a live broadcast. Dennis Skinner would be great, but he's kind of a lone ranger these days, not really belonging to any party, ideologically at least.

That's an amazing graph, as the article points out, the gap between many people and what they think they're voting for must be massive and getting bigger. Voting for most seems to have become Pavlovian a long time ago.

In a depressingly tory constituency here. No hope of altering the outcome but I have to vote with my conscience. Nigh-on impossible to vote Liberal again after the last government (or Labour after the one before). Just hope the Greens have a candidate here.

Email them Ian, that's what I did. They'll tell you if they're fielding a candidate. I'm getting more involved and they have a big drive in donations right now for this very purpose. Good luck!

I'm leaning heavily towards voting Green this year. I've been a Labour man all my life but increasingly, like most traditional Labour voters, have found that my vision of the party is completely at odds with the Westminster reality so I won't support them anymore.

Although my consituency was one of the few where Labour actually increased their majority between 2005 and 2010 so they'll no doubt walk it again but I'm not into tactical voting, always go with my heart and principles.
