Hey Saturday Sun - I don't hate it but the chord progression seems pretty generic for BoC, definitely the weakest track on TCH for me.

Man, You Could Feel The Sky is a masterpiece. Some people baffle me sometimes. But everyone has their opinions. That track is so beautiful. The Native chant at the end puts me in a trance.

Man, I used to like boc more than I do now... I skip almost every other song on Geogaddi and MHTRTC...The only release I dont skip around on is TCH cuz its still my favorite

i appreciate it now, but there was a long time when i didn't get pete standing alone. i just couldn't comprehend it, it sounded like a jumbled up mess. but after a few more careful listens, it's one of my favorite tracks

the tracks i still have a hard time getting into are mostly older ones. i still can't listen to the old tunes cassette rips straight through, and i never liked a few from twoism (seeya later, melissa juice).

some of my favorite things lately about the newer BoC material is how cohesive and coherent the LPs are as a whole. i tend to listen to newer stuff when i can really take the time and get through an entire album. i love them beginning to end, sure there are some tracks less exciting than others, but they all are great as a piece of the larger picture.

I never got The Color of the Fire. I used to skip it a lot but nowadays I embrace it.

Also Bocuma. The melody is strange. I don't hate it or anything, It just feels weird. I always figured there was some kind of music theory stuff going on that they were using.
(Although it gets stuck in my head like crazy)

I absolutely love this track until that second melody comes in at :47. It's not that bad, it's just incredibly distracting for me from the main original melody once their overlaid on one another later in the track.

I found Happy Cycling to be pretty uneventful and a kind-of unwelcome ending to MHTRTC when I first heard it, because hey no matter how you look at it, it's a pretty uncompromising first listen as an album. Many plays later, of course have turned my perspective of things

Half of A Few Old Tunes I adore and the other half, I simply do not get; but then again, they were never meant to be released so I think it's understandable that there would be some weird tracks.

M9. Has a nice start but then it grows repetitive and the accompanying synths are boring. I would have gone for a more "pulsating" and bassy harmony for it(like hiscores). Maybe I'll remix it once I learn2music.

everything you do is a balloon. once again the intro is awesome but otherwise I don't bother with the rest.

and as for old tunes:

I can "get" abin'adab; like they're going for that low budget TV-movie thriller ambience, but its too discordant.

also a handful of other old tunes that, while interesting to listen to and see where BoC started and how they have developed from their "old tunes" into their official releases, are otherwise rather generic. There are some that are absolute gold though and are also probably responsible for getting them record deals.

....I like the whole Beautiful Place EP, but the level at which most people regard those songs is waaay above where I do. Especially Zoetrope, even though like I said, I like it, it's my least favorite on that record. And the others are great in their own right, but nowhere near as amazing to me as some people find them.

I'm with you on this 1. Even though I thinkIABPOITC is a really, really good release. But Zoetrope, in my eyes, is 1 of the weakest songs they made. It's just, to simple or something, I don't know.

I absolutely adore the rest they made though.
