Great site! There are people in conspiracy theory circles who dig through it to find little anomalies that signify alien life and the like! Pretty fun!

I have absolutely no doubt Aliens exist. To what level of intelligence, i do not know but life HAS to exist out in the expanse of the universe. I think it's almost mathmatically impossible for there not to be.
Whether Aliens have contacted Earth is another matter but it's definitely fun reading about conspiracies and UFO sightings/instances - some are so well documented and backed by so many people it almost seems unlikely that they haven't come in contact with us. The story about that Brazilian town, who experienced multiple UFO crashes in one evening, and claimed to see the creatures themselves with almost 2000 eye witnesses across the area, absolutely insane.
It's so easy to be skeptical then instantly believe through these astonishing coincidences. Contradiction when discussing Aliens is inevitable i guess.
Anyway i didn't want to stray off the point here with Alien conspiracy as it seems to have it's own domain of discussion really. Here is something concrete for everyone

Amazing how Black holes have gone from speculative theory to concrete fact and possible arches of the universe. The Universe never ceases to amaze me.

So, Neptunes first birthday has passed, in that i mean it's been one Neptune year since we discovered the planet. Hurrah!

You're perhaps not aware, but the american congress is about to axe the James Web Space Telescope (i.e. Hubble Space Telescope successor).

Sadly, i was aware, the budget has exploded out of control and been dubbed "the telescope that ate astronomy" - nevertheless this telescope is ridiculously important to the further understanding of the universe origins. Such a shame its probably going to be scrapped after all that cash being spent. Sign Up everyone!

Im just going to bump this thread everytime I want to say something, even if only a few of us post in here!
It's such a travesty that this incredible telescope could be shelved because of budget, can you place a price on the understanding of our origins? - yes this money could be spent on more pressing issues, but when you consider the money that has been spent on this project is just a minute fraction of the US military budget it's a crying shame.
The budget has grossly expanded, granted.. but everyone made these same doubts when Hubble was proposed, then when it was launched and then when fired blanks with the faulty mirror. But I hear absolutely no one doubting the monumental important facts this beautiful feat of astronomical exploration and engineering gave the world.
This project simply cannot be left aside, so far into creation.

Hmm...
Invest money on an instrument that will help us to better understand our origins, helping us to raise consciousness of the species, in turn helping us to become less fear based and better understand our future.
OR
Invest MILLIONS, nay, BILLIONS more on instruments of death, destruction, and terror in a fear induced society who remains clueless to its origins and place in the universe, trapped in a perpetual state of fear and ignorance which in turn causes a stalemate in consciousness...
Tough call on that one.
Oh shit, didn't they just raise the terror alert to chartreuse or something because the president took a dump?

I'm starting to think petitions are a better form of reform than voting or protest. With voting, you only get the choice of corporate backed puppets who work for the same people higher up, and with protest you get shot in the fucking face. Again, tough call.
Also, I find it incredible that we would put a hold or a stop on something we've already partly built. God knows if it was a fucking bomb or something, we'd make damn sure to finish the project, and kill whoever needs to be killed in the process who tries to put a stop to it. THEN, we'd use it to KILL MORE PEOPLE AND BLOW SHIT UP!!! Aren't we fucking grand!!!?!?! NO! WE'RE SERIOUSLY PSYCHOLOGICALLY DAMAGED AND FUCKED IN THE HEAD!!!
