The percussion on this album is superb... especially Lotus Flower. Sounds like all live drumming, no programming, which makes it even better.

Taking my first listen now and it's great, but if I'd guessed what it was going to sound like, it wouldn't have been a million miles away from this. Still, an average Radiohead album is still better than 99% of the other stuff out there at the minute I guess?

By the way, seems us BOC fans aren't the only ones who over-analyse our favorite bands. Check this out on Puddlegum. What do we reckon? OK Computer and In Rainbows linked in this way? Should make for an interesting playlist if nothing else.

I personally think the record is great. Not really up to par lyrically, but it seems like this record is really minimal, so I'll let it slide. It's interesting to see how it rates as far as Dynamic Range though. Pretty noisy.

I started not liking it, but it has the Kid A effect on me. I listened again, and again and again. It's almost mantra-esque.

I suffer from a similar disconnect to Radiohead these days. They are a talented bunch to say the least, but The King of Limbs really severed the personal connection I had to their music. I enjoy Lotus Flower and Codex quite a bit though.

i even gave it the 'driving around wales, stoned, at 6 in the morning treatment' (this sounds pathetic i know) it just didn't click.

After listening to it again, I can't help but feel the rest of the band had very little to do with this release. I am a bit disappointed in this release as a Radiohead album and not as a Thom Yorke solo.

I think it's a great Radiohead album that will sit nicely in their collection.

Possibly, but it's hard to say. Jonny likes doing a lot of synth and programming stuff in addition to the string and orchestral arrangements he's known for, Phil probably wrote some of the rhythms (plus the parts he played in live to be looped and rearranged), there's guitars and bass, etc.

The band wasn't in the studio playing through full songs live to put on the album, but I think they were all involved in some way or another, and probably contributed their own ideas and parts to the songs. There's a lot of layering and subtle background parts going on that are easy to miss on the first few listens, especially if you're not listening close on good headphones.

i agree 100%. Left me slightly disappointed.

Perhaps some more listens are in order.
