My name is actually two put together. The "CatsAre" part comes from the Cure song "All Cats Are Grey," one of my favorite songs from what is probably my favorite band. "Kloppervok" is derived from the Books song "Vogt Dig for Kloppervok." I assume its a name, but I just like the word itself. I put the two together, and the rest is history.

Hah, that's hilarious as it's exactly the same in my case. Although not a particularily great track, my name is from a vocal sample in the track "Mashin' on The Motorway" by Dj Shadow. Apparently the vocal sample is from a news report from a horrific murder scene in Texas a decade ago in which an insane guy in a superman outfit busted his way into a gas station and shot several people with a sawn-off shotgun. A silly (or cheesy) play on words…and the feeling I get when I listen to certain music with chimes or harmonics, of going back in time, especially to my childhood…
Also, according to the Oxford dictionary, the definition of “to chime in” is “insert an unexpected remark when others are talking” which really isn’t applicable to me here; but their definition of “chime in with” of “to agree or correspond with”, is applicable…

Mine is a song from the fifties or sixties. When I was little my folks used to sing it in funny voices to make me laugh.

Apparently people call it a 'user name' i usually call it a screen name. so, i didn't know this thread existed.
Mine is just a combination of two motifs in BoC's work that I find particularly intriguing - the color turquoise and the smallest weird number. turquoise especially since my favorite color since forever has historically been green; however, several close people have told me that "my color" (the color of my soul, the color of my outward expression, yada yada) is blue. Combine the two (intention + reality, desires + circumstances, purported self + actual self, yada yada) and you get turquoise.
