DERAIL I am right there with you. If you live close enough to go check it out with dropping a bunch of cash sure go check it out. However spending alot of money coming from way out the country is such a gamble. I mean I hope beyond hope that it turns in your favor. Just like DERAIL said...nothing is confirmed at all...I think BoC are alittle better to their fans then to let them spend lots of money and time like this. They even said that they thought it was silly that people were spending as much money as they were on the original pressing of twoism.

I guess I am in limbo...I totally see what DERAIL is saying, but I hope for those who are spending lots of money that is turns out. I am a BoC fan, just a broke one and one that thinks I will have a better more certain chance of seeing them down the road.

Well if this is a 'secret' show then I don't think there would be any kind of confirmation. Why even bother with a code if you are just going to announce it. I think the idea was to keep this small and actually making people work for the chance to go. I think you guys are on the right track. I think you'll get more info as you get close. As far as spending the money to go, well thats each to his own. I think this is for the dreamers and I don't mean that as a bad thing. Good luck guys. And if it turns out to be nothing, you followed your hearts and dream and who cares what others might think about that.

OK, it's official... I'm in. Tickets secured. And not only that, I got my lil brother to go along as well!

Now guys, I know it really seems crazy that I'm in LA and going out to this, but I was actually leaving next week to go to Europe for the Summer to work on a job anyways!

So you see, this is one of those "meant to be" situations. Where things synchronize and serendipity is honored. So, since I was on my way out, I just took a minor detour, which will end up costing me what the UK folk or Irish folk are willig to loose on expenses.

Yeah, to be honest, it is a lilttle crazy, and I am a bit worried (about driving on the Left side of the road)!
But honestly, I got nothing to loose. I just got lucky in that this may work out in my schedule and budget. And what's the downside?

No BOC? Well, to be honest, I'm willing to accept that. It is a gamble, it is a risk. But that is the only way something is truly gained. If they don't show, they'll be enough people there to turn lemons into lemonade... and I have been to the Pentlands before and loved the scenery. I sure won't mind spending a day in the country with my little brother and some new found friends.

We've spent so much time in cracking the code (which was never officially finished, true) and talking with one another, that this is one of the ways that technology has proven to be a constructive and uniting force. All these strangers are going to hangout together, maybe for nothing... or maybe for a live show or party... either way, it's all been about the process and the journey there (whether long or short) and it's been exciting.

It's going to be fun. And a great big thanks to all those who contributed here and on the wiki site. This has been proof for me that technology can yield positive results. And if we're corrct, then, it will also prove that collective intelligence is an amazing and underated process.

I'll leave this rant with a couple of quotes:

"Follow your bliss" -Joseph Cambell
"Wouldn't you like to be free?" - b.o.c.

Now who's gonna pick me up at EDI? lol

Great to hear you are sorted for tickets and stuff. You really were one THE driving forces behind this thing. Yeah there still alot of variables to this odyssey - but thats part of the fun as well and certainly getting to meet up with lie-minded prople will be the business! Still dont know the exact whys and wherefores of getting there :? withnail: "I've got the fear!" :D

all attendees:

My lil bro just called, he's brining 4 of his charged up walkie talkies. So I think that DJ Todos is bringing three as well...

We should organize a rally point before hand (ASAP, I leave in a little while!) and then perhaps distribute the walkies and then roll out caravan style? The radios will give us a good means of communication since cell access will be limited.

Plus, I predict some fun with slecting handle names and numbers for the channels. lol

I know people are coming form all over, but if we can somehow figure a time or place to at least meetup and give out the radios, that would be sweet. These things have like an 18mile range on em too. So if you're in the city and have to meetup with your mates later before we roll to the country, that's no prob. Cause we can stay in contact.

plus, most of us have never seen each other. we may need some markers on our cars and share some pics of ourselves.
email, phon,e and mobils numbers would be hot too.

Nevermind keeping annonymous on the net now... we're all in this together. Let's organize ourselves. Any suggestions?

We'll have 2 laptops with us as well. I jst got a gps tracker and now have to return it!!! Only works in the US no european maps! what shite.

Anyone else got one? I guess it isnt critical, sine we have a ruff map and directions to the locale. With radios, we can stay in touch and spread out if we are in the wrong place and want to search the 5 mile radius (that's about how far apart all our plotted markers are).

can't help but think that we're onto something, since we were unoffially invited to "contact" the red moon,
The web page being removed in under 30mins of us posting the map is up to interpretation. i'm leaning towards the positve. Then again, I guess I have to at this point! lol

I'm into Edinburgh friday pm at 9ish. It might be better to try and meet in the city and co-ordinate it from there. That way no one will be left behind and trying to find the site by themselves. DJ_Todos in contact with me. Lincolnshire poacher - u on MSN messenger?

Derail wrote:Does anyone else think this is absolutely insane? I'm as big a boc fan as the next guy here, but dropping $1,500 on a plane ticket to Scotland for an event that may or may not happen seems pretty crazy. Especially since the Redmoon code has since been taken down. The exact location and time hasn't even been figured out yet. Nothing was ever officially announced, and you guys are just gonna take your chances? I'm directing this more toward people in the states, cause that's a long way to go and a lot of money to spend on an internet rumor. I really hope though, for your sake that it does happen. I'd love to get a recording of the gig. (if there is one)

The funny thing is that I actually have more than enough money to go, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something will get announced from Warp or Boc. I would love to see them play the U.S. or even Canada. I just hope they give the rest of the world a chance. This is me being my pessimistic self, so sorry for dragging everyone down but I'm just trying to think logicially. Oh yeah, and I hope you guys remember your passports. Godspeed people...
Yeah, I agree, 1,500 is a little insane. Yeah, I hope BoC does play for ya guys. I can see it now, you all get there and you see a whole group of people, and you ask, "When is BoC playing?", and they say, "Shit man, Marcus got diarrhea and they couldn't make the show!" That would suck. Hahaha.
