bocpages lists it as saying "twenty cent" and i think that's funny.
Could be 'Style of the Street' by Broken Glass. From Manchester, 1984.
Well worth a listen even if it's not. Ruthlessly plundered by The Prodigy for their track 'Girls'.

I was thinking about the voice in “XYZ” that says the title of the track. It sounds like a sample and I figured maybe it can from an alphabet singalong or something. I found on YouTube that the same woman who is sampled doing the counting in “A Is To Be As B Is To C” has a song about the alphabet. Let me know if you think the “X Y Z” in the video below is close to the one in the song. I slowed it down on YouTube and it sounded similar, but maybe someone could manipulate it to try to match the track…

Front 242's track Gripped By Fear shares the same Ensoniq VFX patch as Mansel (string and choir sound)

I think the track Sl Flk was comparing to was possibly Julie and candy, with the flute and melodic structure being similar. At least that’s what comes to mind for me.
Listen this specific part: 3:35 -> 4:05
This typical mellotron flute definitely sounds similar to Julie and Candy to my ears.
Another potential epiphany today:
Julian Cope -> JC -> Julie and Candy
Julie and Candy -> JC -> Julian Cope
Maybe that's why they opted for a song title starting with a J and a C.
Julie / Julian (seems an obvious link)
Candy / reference to Julian's drug (ab)use
Julian Cope is mentioned in the interviews a couple of times as a source of inspiration.

If not still cool
I always took that as a little logo of their original studio in the Pentland Hills.
I always thought it had something to do with Waco too, and I always imagined them living *kinda-sorta* like the Branch Davidians did, just without hseroK divaD and the cult-like ways, but who really knows, seems intentionally cryptic as usual. Also, those "trees" look just like doppler radars,
or some other kind of radome?

I'm just kidding, obviously they're nihilists and nothing they've done really matters.

just throwing this out there for anybody who may be able to recognize it, here's my shot at isolating the choir sample heard in both a12 and aquarius ver. 3 (using A12 as a source):

I was thinking the other night this sample may be what they used in Staircase Whip?

The Staircase Whip sample is from this album:
https://www.discogs.com/release/417924- ... x-Bulgares
Track 9 "Sableyalo Mi Agontze".
I have the album myself and I haven't heard the A12 sample. Would be really cool to have, that's one of my favourite unreleased songs...
However if you're a Leftfield fan, the sample in the beginning of "Release The Pressure" is from another song on this album, "Polegnala E Pschenitza".
Pretty cool stuff...

Hi, i haven't been in this forum for quite a bit, but the drums in Dawn Chorus are taken from Iron Butterfly's "Get Out Of My Life, Woman". Pretty well known break, surprised they used it at all.
You can hear it if you look at the two together, it's been stretched out a bit in Dawn Chorus.

Good ear. There are so many versions of that break I am always thinking of this one.

I'm pretty sure the John Abercrombie sample at the end of Everything You Do Is A Balloon comes from a porno.
I don't remember where I found it out but I found another thing sampling the same voice from One Very Important Thought, and it had that song in the background. Can't for the life of me remember where I found it out, but I'll eventually come to it.

B08 from the random 35-tracks tape is sampled from Gending Andong-Andong Laras Pelog Pathet Lima. Not sure of the exact original recording but it is most likely Indonesian Gamelan.

A couple more of instances of Make A Joyful Noise are in Warp10-08 (Unknown) and Alpha and Omega:
There for sure might be more snippets sampled from MAJN in this track, might need some extra ears on this LP
You'll really have to strain your ear for this one, it's sort of biased towards the right in the stereo field.
