I saw The Fountain today.
It is a work of art!

I think Jim Carry's best roles are serious ones. I love ESOASM and Waking Life too, I need to check out the others.Cupz wrote:Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
This movie made me lightheaded...in an extremely good way.I didn't watch it before becouse my sister say'd it was crappy and that jim cary shouln'dt be in serious films. After seeing this (and le truman show) I strongly disagree, both the statement of jim cary not in serious films and that the film was crappy.
One of my new favourites!
My top 5 now is
1.waking life
2.koyanisqatsi (and the other qatsi's)
3.Slacker
4.Pi
5.Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
yeah, my movie taste kicks butt!
I've seen it once, and i can't wait too see it again!monochrome wrote:I saw The Fountain twice over thanksgiving weekend and I have to say that movie was amazing. I had been looking foward to it a good while and despite all my expectations I was not the least bit dissapointed.
Definitely one of the most emotional and powerful movies i've ever seen, especially the second time. Aronofsky is a genius.
How so? I want to see it! Anyways, the last movie I thought rocked was, ohk, two movies. Sereniity and Day of The Dead whic h ifinally got around to seeing. But Serenity was awesome, cept the ending which I passed out and missed a bit of.thedisavowed wrote:I saw Apocalyto and it SUCKED.
It was gross.

Somewhere between the tribesman being tricked into eating tapir balls and the man with blood squirting out of his brain and the woman giving birth (in great detail) in the water... I decided that Mel Gibson is starting to just get gross.ExitEuXa wrote:Define grossthedisavowed wrote:I saw Apocalyto and it SUCKED.

Look, A Scanner Darkly is an excellent book. I've read it twice. But Linklater screwed up on the screen play for that film. Visually, musically, it was cool. If you've read the book, cool. But if you haven't read the book, good luck sorting that one out.Cupz wrote:A scanner darkly...FINALLY!
linklater always gives me my surreal high^^ this is no exeption.I thought someone said it would be hard to understand![]()
?
You use the word "gross" often. If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. The Passion of the Christ wasn't shocking at all. I liked it and even have it on dvd. I can't wait too see Apocalyto.thedisavowed wrote:Somewhere between the tribesman being tricked into eating tapir balls and the man with blood squirting out of his brain and the woman giving birth (in great detail) in the water... And on top of that, there is little or no characterization, and so it just becomes one of those movies that makes you wonder why anything exists anywhere with the kind of abject cruelty that you sit through throughout that entire film.
I never saw Passion of the Christ, but now I'm positive I'm never going to. Apocalypto was damn near sadistic.
Me and my sister where discussing this the other day. Alot of movies he play's in involves torture of some kind (braveheart etc).I think the guy is one sick bastardthedisavowed wrote:....damn near sadistic.
Open your eyes and take a look at the world! Give me one good reason why Mel Gibson is a sick bastard?Cupz wrote:Me and my sister where discussing this the other day.
