Hey all - long-time lurker from England, UK here; I decided to make the jump and finally join up - might as well give a bit of background as to how I got here...

I've always been intrigued by music; I recorded plenty stuff from the radio to tapes when I was young (and messed about with the deck), and later made compilations, experimented with dubbing stuff from deck to deck etc. The one thing I used to fear as a child was playing a normal tape and it unexpectedly going 'wonky'. A bit ironic, really. I've found that as I've grown older, those things that used to unsettle me have become sources of fascination and real interest.

Around the year 2000, was a bit tired of most mainstream music and later started a music quest for lesser known stuff, at the same time as hearing instrumental pieces on TV programmes and actively looking for them - the result was a whole lot of electronic instrumental discoveries that eventually led to artists such as Plaid, Autechre, and Boards of Canada.

I wouldn't say I'm a die-hard fan of BOC, but the music always has a great quality, and it's up there with the best I've ever heard, without question. I like the warm character of analogue. And it's remarkable to hear anything recent that sounds like it was dusted off from the early 1980s or before - especially the Ghost Box label with its very British tilt on the vintage sound; on some level, I connected with it straight away.

Aside from music, I like 'old stuff' in general - I have no modern games consoles and would rather play Streets Of Rage than something like GTA. My first computer (on loan) was a BBC Micro which I still have a fondness for! I'm viewing this site on an LED monitor but only because my previous CRT broke - and I think it looked better. And I have quite a few old videotapes of recorded British telly, most of them unchecked. If I find any of those National Film Board of Canada animations, should I keep them?

I don't usually join these sort of places, but this seems like a nice community.

LONG TIME fan of BoC.
But, busy artist designer/artist/musician girl, so their music makes my creativity just flow.
i know they are genuine. And being on my own its comforting and not distracting; and more than works to get me grooving with the engrained nature we all are in. They just choose to acknowledge the truth. And to me, that is beautiful.

Hi everyone, I am new here, but have been listening to Boards of Canada and other Warp artists for a long time. I'd really like start posting more, but everyone here seems to know their stuff so well that it seems so pointless to say anything at all.

Greetings, I'm a college student from the U.S., new to twoism, but a very devoted follower of BoC. I do quite a bit of artwork and I also make music in my spare time. I currently have a small business where I sell modified GameBoys and other electronics that are used for the creation of music.

Big admirer of BOC , especially the SKAM ep , john peel sessions , twoism and MHTRTC.
Never got round to buying campfire headphase.

Been making music for 10 years or so online , but over 20 in total.

Just downloaded all 4 of the one on twoism albums. Thanks to all involved. I look forward to hearing them.

I make experimental , yet very melodic , IDM kinda stuff , but i've no problem mixing jazz , blues , dub etc....into it. I'm open-minded about genres , boxes , labels and try not to pigeonhole myself.

Hi. I like boards of Canada (obviously). I've been listening and enjoying them for years now, but there's still a lot left for me to listen too.

Other then that, i'm 18 and i'm currently studying digital graphics and animation in college. I'm planning to go on studying animation at university afterwards.

I've been hanging about for a while but barely posting so I decided to actually try this thing since everyone here seems so friendly. I'm Kathleen. I don't make music, but I enjoy it. I've like BoC for many, years. I live in Victoria, BC.

Hey guys, been lurking for a while now. Been listening to BOC for 5 years, and seriously, their music ages like fine wine. I hear new things each and every listen. I live in Seattle, just got out of the absolute worst school year of my life, and I feel great. For all those 5 years, I never even touched Geogaddi, but this school year, I found an appreciation for it. Sometimes I feel like my life is progressing like their discography. Starts off with MHTRTC where everything is coasting along beautifully, then I hit the scary, depressing Geogaddi part, and now I'm heading into Campfire Headphase, and things are great. Growing up, I either listened to rap or metal, switching occasionally between the two. Then, one fateful friday night, I discovered Adult Swim. I heard the music on their bumps, and fell in love with all of it. Upon returning from a great camping trip, I decided to embrace music of all kinds, and I fell in love. I soon discovered BOC off the bumpworthy.com site, and initially dismissed them as "too trippy" (I laugh at that now) after hearing "Constants are Changing" (how ironic). I soon heard their other stuff and loved all of it. I kept finding all new music of all sorts, and things have been great since then. I soon learned about all their deep mathematical interests after listening to them for about 3 years, then I fell in love with math, even after hating it my whole life.
Anyways, that's about it. that whole post was kinda rambling and disjointed, I apologize. Take care guys, I hope this new album drops REAL soon.

Hello board. After previously being a member of a Radiohead message board a few years ago I've decided to return to posting but fancied a change. After searching around a few message boards of bands from my iPod I stumbled upon this one and figured it may be the most stimulating off topic as well as with regards to musical discussion (not that I'm particularly learned when it comes to instruments, just that I feel I can pick up some new leads for music on here, as well as sharing some of my own suggestions).

I've recently started listening to BoC backwards courtesy of the YouTube videos currently uploaded. One of my favourites was the reversed remix of Beck's Broken Drum, though I can't seem to find it these days.
