Btw, am I the only one thinking some songs really sound different? In Turquoise Hexagon Sun for instance, the main melody does not sound exactly as it sounds on the CD version.

a lot of times, vinyl masters will have different equalization. for example, palace posy off of tomorrow's harvest sounds, to me, a lot different - the bass of the kick drum is far louder. this makes the song sound totally different.

Ah dang...if it's a vinyl problem it wouldn't be the first from this batch at least, and sounds like Bleep's been good about dealing w/issues. GL tracking it down. I'd better check mine out too.

Along the same vein as polarbear's post, I know when I listen to Cold Earth I could swear I hear a higher layer of synth at the very beginning that isn't quite as obvious on CD..

Spot on, some songs actually sound more layered (An eagle in your mind, Turquoise Hexagon Sun, Peacock Tail to name a few). Complete eargasm at first listen!

I am truly looking forward to hearing these on vinyl. I've only ever heard this music as an mp3.. thinking of that on the day of my re-issues arrival really blew me away. I have not heard anything by these guys in anyway but a rather deficient format (though I'm grateful to the portability of mp3's and the amount one can store)

Or audiogasm! Just getting up now and about to make my way to the UPS office to pick up my 3lp's and then it's up to the practice space to rip them while playing them over a massive PA. Today is going to be a GREAT day!!

Haven't played all mine as my turntable is in for repair. I hope my ones aren't bad :(

edit: Though that said, the overwhelming majority of people are saying these sound great so it's probably just a few unlucky pressings. Or, turntable set up is wrong is some cases.

I had a few scratches on side D of TCH, probably because it's the quietest part of the album. Nothing bothering me enough not to enjoy it.

I really love the mhtrc sound, aquarius blew me away with new details, devil in the details, you could feel the sky, music is math also sound amazing! But have "needle jumping" and a little distorted sound on 1969, didnt test THC though, but it seems that the vinyl feels "heavier", dunno maybe it's just me.

Also wanna ask, i have Audio Technica at lp usb 1200, and manufacturer says 3,5 g of tracking force, if i drop my tracking force to 2-2,5, will it improve quality?

Is it just me, or does Geogaddi sound softer and a bit quieter on vinyl than on cd?

a question: will always be the stickers and print in buying the albums repress of boc? or only for a limited time?

Picked mine up and the top right corner has creases in all 3 lp's. I could tell even before I opened it up they were going to be bent but it's not too bad to send it back. Listening to MHRTC now and doing a rip of all 3 today. Sounds very warm.

I think the print was for pre-orders only.

At 3.5g of tracking force I would think you'd have a fairly bass heavy response - lowering the tracking force to 2g will probably not render audio as it should sound; the 3.5g recommendation from Audio Technica accounts for the weight of your particular tonearm/cartridge combination. If you're having a jumping needle try adjusting the anti-skate weight (assuming your turntable has one).

Emailed Bleep regarding my pressings, currently awaiting a response.
