Thursday 16 April - Tape 05 video released
Wednesday 22 April - Inferno announcement
Tuesday 28 April - Inferno streams announcement
Monday 4 May - ?
Sunday 10 May - ?
Saturday 16 May - ?
Friday 22 May - Inferno streams in 7 cities
These dates are 7 dates separated by 6 days which numerically mirrors the new logo. I have my hopes up for 4/5, 10/5 and 16/5 for more stuff, maybe a track or two?
I like this theory! Don’t forget the “retail partner listening sessions” on the Thursday the 28th of May which also falls into the 6 day pattern but adds an 8th date to the list.
Even better since that would mean 7 cycles of 6 days from 16 April until 28 May

The tapes are the piece of this that I still don't really understand. I thought that they might be tickets to listening events, but sounds like the web page is for that. Maybe they still are tickets for the very first one?

I think the tapes were nothing more than to garner initial speculation. There's nothing left to them, imo. Would have loved to have received one.

Yeah, this is the answer I believe.
The only other thing I could think they would have been used for was a dry run on Bleep's supply chain to see how effectively they could get these tapes out all over the world - but that's not really important to the release itself.

And to plant the seed thematically for Tape 05.

ahaha what a coincidence I was listening to "Adulteress's Punishment" while reading this.
Yeah I never watched that movie but in contrast with the cover art yes the theme is a walk in the park (though in the aforementioned song there is some hellish synth, this is an exception).
To be clear it deviates both from the cover art and from the song names.
One song is titled "Crucified Woman" and really you could pet your dog to that song.
Imagine BoC reproduce this dissociation.
Then the whole message is that "Inferno" is a walk in the park, ppl been too relaxed ;
if this goes this path I predict the the real hellish sounding song will be the 4 last ones ; just like the announcement video is.

This could be revealing, yes. I’m still thinking about the contrast between the cover art and the inner-sleeve imagery too… they’re really keeping us on our toes here.

I'm nowhere near any of the available cities T_T
I selected Los Angeles on the off-chance that I might just take a trip down there. My tattoo artist works there, maybe I'll get my robot arm embellished on.

Something changed in the last thirteen years. And I am relieved and thrilled for what it all means.

Bless ya, but I should point out I've not been part of the mod team for a while now. Life got in the way
Also, huge shout out to our Stateside moderator 2020k. RJ, we're not worthy.

I've responded / argued with at least 3 or 4 people on Instagram and YouTube who complained about the cover art BEFORE they even checked out the inner-sleeve artwork. The contrast is definitely striking! I absolutely love the whole package though.

It’s just another step in defying our expectations.

So we can.... Expect the unexpected?
I'm down with that!
Even releasing the album at the end of May conveys that message. Why May, when that date is SO CLOSE to June 9??

I think so! Tomorrow’s Harvest was released on June 10th, remember. Also:

Can't believe it was only this morning that I made the connection with my daily morning ritual play of the NY Times Spelling Bee.
This is what they've been busy spending their time doing...

I can’t help but think there’s a failed ARG there. Someone posted about Steganography and the ways you could hide data on a VHS and I don’t think they’ve all been attempted.

I’ve missed the relevance of the Phantasm post somewhere? but can I just say, pre-internet I spent a lot of effort trying to source the soundtrack for that film. The music is absolutely incredible. I eventually settled for a CDR bootleg I had to order from an indie shop in my city that exclusively sold film soundtracks. That and Romero’s Day of the Dead OST were my grails

I’m thinking about how the word ‘transmission’ is associated with Tomorrow’s Harvest and how the word ‘session’ seems to be associated with Inferno.
