You thought that? I thought it was quite good. What Christian bale did to himself for that part is scary.

A couple years ago I was living with an old friend, and he had a bunch of people over and they were watching Morvern Caller, I was on my way out to go do something. I had been into BOC for about a year ro so... REALLY in to BOC... and I passed in front of the just as that scene where they play that scene. I immediately stopped in my tracks, turned toward the TV and shouted, "EVERYTHING YOU DO IS A BALLOON! BOARDS OF CANADA!" Everyone must have thought I was a raving lunatic! I was the only one in the group even remotely into that kind of music.
lol!

I just saw this last weekend and also thought it was quite good. I heard he basically ate nothing for a month straight to get that skinny. His "former self" with the big toe as a thumb creeped me the fuck out.

I saw that one back during summer. Thought it was quite good, myself. I loved the ending. Everything came together nicely.

Yeah, you know, I wasn't impressed. I mean, it was sick how skinny Christian Bale was, and it had a lot in terms of atmosphere, but it ultimately played that Fight Club trump card on you where there was just no way to really see the end coming.

When it comes to dense, clue-laden movies like that, I much prefer movies like Donnie Darko where it is rewarding to analyze it 'in process' rather than looking at your tv at the end thinking "huh......"

But that's just me. :D

I watched 24 Hour Party People for the first time in ages last night - such a great film.

It's a comedy, but I find the bit near the end where the Hacienda is about to close, and the Happy Mondays' "Hallelujah" is playing REALLY quite moving! If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean - especially if you're from the UK and of a certain age!

"30 Grand on a table!"

I just watched this movie after a coworker recommended this movie. What a great movie this is! I love to see how a movie unfolds in the last minute and give goosebumps all over. There aren't many movies out there who do so.

It's still surreal to post in this topic...

"Jesus Camp"

Brought back a lot of memories.

Might be scarier than any movie ever tagged as "horror".

I watched "The Goonies" for the first time (at least that I can remember). It wasn't much for plot, but it was funny. I'm sure it pissed a lot of parents off though. Those kids cuss up a storm.

Every kid here in Oregon who grew up in the 80's knows that film, as it was filmed in Astoria. I've been to the Goonies house before. Oh, also the school in Kindergarten Cop. Same deal.

300. Thought it was kind of boring. too much slo-mo and more style than substance.
