Taking the day off work, going to the record store an hour before it opens (pre-ordering just-in case,) picking up my Tomorrow's Harvest on vinyl, taking it to a nice breakfast, then driving home, turning the lights down, locking the doors, and dropping the needle. The midday sun filtered through the blinds should be heavenly.

As far as what to enjoy with it, I think a few glasses of Canadian Club (appropriate,) or maybe a bit of absinthe (which tastes like cock but does something funny to my head.) Acid or shrooms would be nice but I'm not sure I wanna trip on a weekday.

Damn, Letchworth... not a bad idea, actually. Now you've got me thinking... maybe I'll take two days off work, pitch a tent at Mendon Ponds (a little closer to home, and my preferred tripping-wilderness) and have my first listen under the stars. It would be amazing for me, as I have, rather... intimate memories of the beach at Hundred Acre Pond.

I can guarantee the first time will just be on my laptop at night fresh after downloading it -- full disclosure, I've already pre-ordered the vinyl and t-shirt, but I feel like the mp3 files will leak before they are legally available (especially now that the scene releases in V0 and quality isn't an issue).

However, I know I'll be on shrooms at some point in the future and I know I'll listen to some of this album. I Control + F for "shroom" and found only a handful of results

Hopefully I'll be at home when I first listen to it, utterly, devastatingly sober as always. (maybe with a bottle of pale ale, but I dunno yet)

But most likely I'll be at work, headphones on and hoping there will be few interruptions. Hopefully this music will be a great source of inspiration and focus.

In conservation land, either in the woods or at the desert, with a good group of friends, around a big bonfire, with plenty of good bud, and a decent boombox or stereo.

I'll also be having a similar listening party when the new Queens of the Stone Age cd is out.

I will take a drive in my car listening to it at a loud volume through the beautiful hills of Austin.

I plan on grabbing 2-3 tabs of reeeeeally good LSD, grabbing a bottle of tequila and spinning vinyl the day that it arrives. I will probably sit in the middle of my floor, surrounded by my vintage 4-speaker home stereo system, close my eyes and dreamily trip as I absorb the new tunes. Best way to make an album stick with you, trust me.

I get the same thing. My trips go like this:

10-20 minutes of music

3-4 hours of silence

1-1.5 hours of music

I truly admire peoples plans of joining nature, getting high, or whatever. Personally though, seeming as the 10th is a monday I shall have to listen to the new album on the bus on the way to work. Then again at work. Then again at work. Then again at work. Then again on the way back home from work. Probably again at home.

I'm going to listen the new album in this forest since I live about 10 minutes walking from there.

I may:
Go for a walk.
Close my room and play the cd and just lay down
Go to my friends house and listen to it with her.
Or just go for a happy cycling

I've never been one for making a "thing" out of stuff like this, so I'll probably be pootling about the house with it on, do the ironing, cook my tea, go on the internet, stuff like that. I kinda prefer music to reveal itself to me when I'm completely unaware of it because that's when I'm most receptive, I like the universe to surprise me when I'm walking to work or hanging the washing out, just feels more... natural to me I suppose.

lol. I've been to that area a few years back. Some nice spots. My grandparents cottage is near Dorset/Huntsville. I'm really hoping to get there this summer.
