Hm just cos the video is on Youtube doesn't mean they sampled it from there.

True but it surely is the most likely unless VHS copies were readily available.

Great detective work!

I see BoC sampling from VHS rather than Youtube, i can only imagine they have a large archive of interesting material on VHS.

Also true. Still, wouldn't be surprised if they had a pretty big VHS library. This is the first album since Youtube became the universal go-to place for video, so they must have been getting this kind of stuff from somewhere for previous work.

either way it's film footage, not some lame HD tape.

VHS is video not film but whatev..

Anyway, looks like this is where the footage is from...

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/America_Under_Siege

And it was apparently distributed on VHS, so they most likely got an original copy.

I was thinking it was some sort of news broadcast that wouldn't be available for sale.

VHS is analog video recorded on magnetic tape, but only film is film.

I guess the original report could have been shot on film and then dubbed to VHS for distribution though.

Shit. I figured we'd find stuff like this eventually...but damn. Bleak is an understatement.

I'm sure BoC has seen the debunking of this film as well, but they're clearly pointing at the most horrible of all possible "what if's". "Tomorrow" could suck pretty bad.

Impeccable timing with all of the NSA surveillance stuff coming out over the weekend.

Good job finding it, qualia!

that's my favourite bit too, it caught my attention the very first time i heard the track. I just love the way the track kinda plateau's out with the bass and that crunchy kick with the squelchy voice swirling around....it's almost trance like.

Wow, incredible find! What else can I say but In The Morning, BOC! I always knew you would eventually hit us in the mouth.
