Well, that gives us the location of the back catalog tapes!

Wow, this actually works.

Try slowing it down 50%. It becomes 3:00 minutes, and it also becomes easier to hear. For some reason, the original track sounds far too fast.
EDIT: This is definitely a long shot, but this is what I imagine Line Two or Powerline to sound like, from Catalog 3.

It actually gets a kind of nice pattern if you cut the speed in half.

Link to the full song download broke. I uploaded a slower version to my Dropbox (DropBoC):

where did that image originate from? I see magic teens, and "Slap your mammy" is quite funny. incredible string band is the only real band i can make out there though.

But the clips don't claim to be anything, why would they be uploaded? Just what is going on exactly.

I'd think that mdg would have intervened by now no?

I think WeHadNormality posted the proof that they're a hoax: https://secure.flickr.com/photos/jasonc ... 099512976/

I just find it too unlikely they would use photos from that set.

Very true.

Ha, yep.

I think we're being trolled.

I think the best part of the "hoax" is the fact that a non-thumbnail version of the Hell Interface logo has been discovered. Well, it seems that SOME people knew about it but not everyone. It also leads me to believe that bailenantrodach is an official BoC account, because where else would the image have come from? The fact that the bailenantrodach account uploaded the image circa the RSD incident is another clue. It makes me think that the Sandrail clip is probably real as well. It's funny that it took a hoaxer to bring all of this to our attention.

That's the avatar for the bailenantrodach account.

Here's an explanation of the seal, I'm sure there's better ones

Wait a sec, isnt this just like the rsd incident? I think this will lead to the older catalog finally being published. Imo of course.

I think it's too much to hope for to see an Old Tunes reissue, at least this year. Right now, I'm just going to read it at face value - a (likely?) legitimate remix has been unearthed, a (likely?) hoaxer piggybacked on the find, and (inadvertently?) exposed another BoC mystery that has been hiding in plain sight.

Part of being a fan of these guys is a lot of mystery and constant withholding. I wonder how they feel in retrospect about including all of these impossible to find friends/family only releases in their early discography.

It must be a blessing and a curse - in the TCH era, they claimed to be normal guys that just want to be left alone, but it seems like every few years, they love to remind us of the vast troves of unreleased music they have stockpiled (all the way back to the early website with the unreleased song clips, then the 40+ unreleased songs recorded for Geogaddi, then the suggestion of there being piles and piles of tapes during the TH interviews) and I think part of their legacy thrives on the legend of this rarity (excellent quality of their released catalog aside, of course).

I'd like to respect their wishes to keep their past buried, but 15 years later, they're still not making it any easier on us.
